Overall a relaxing cruise. The crew and staff were friendly, informative and outstanding in service. Being a smaller ship, restricted movement and areas to walk. If the evening meal was much better, I could have considered rating the Freedom with 5 stars. The evening meal (dinner) in the main dining room must be improved.
Embarkation

Very smooth process from dropping off the bags at the terminal, parking, boarding and getting to the room.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The evening meal (Early dinner) in the dining room was at best - average. Although the service was excellent the food was a bit disappointing. The selection on the menu was nothing to get excited about and the taste of the food was far below a first class dining experience. I will have to rate the brunch in the main dining room was very good. From the brunch selections, the presentation and the taste was excellent. The selection and flavor of the food on the Lido deck was very good. Service was fast and the dining areas were clean.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Basic activities were provided. The pools were small, but there were more than enough deck chairs. Musical entertainment was abundant in the lounges and stages. My only complaint is that the dance lounge was not open every night.
Entertainment

Musicians were very good. The cruise director provided all forms of music. From DJ, rock, piano, classical guitar and a violin trio. Excellent.
Service and Staff

Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The staff maintained a clean and neat ship. The ship Freedom, is a smaller cruise ship. The width and length are noticeably smaller than most ships. I felt it was odd that the bed in our cabin was situated in front of the window and door to the balcony. On most ships the bed is located more toward the front of the cabin, with a sitting area in front of the window and door to the balcony.
Cabin / Stateroom

I felt it was odd that the bed in our cabin was situated in front of the window and door to the balcony. On most ships the bed is located more toward the front of the cabin, with a sitting area in front of the window and door to the balcony. The bathroom was of adequate size, clean with plenty of light. One complaint is that there are not enough electrical outlets for charging phones, computers, hairdryers, etc. There were only two outlets - one on the vanity in the main cabin area and one in the bathroom located high up, right hand corner of the mirror. This particular outlet was angled and anything plugged in would simply fall out. This outlet was useless.
You will appreciate the beauty and cleanliness of this port stop. Flowered walking paths, zip lining, breath taking views from the restaurant on top of the hill, and a nice shopping area with a restaurant overlooking the ocean.
Appreciate your detailed review. Your other sailings must have been on other cruise lines, most of the Carnival ships we’ve sailed have the same layout you described. Glad you mostly enjoyed your cruise.
