Fantastic, beautiful, fun cruise to beautiful places.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was great, very smooth process and beautiful weather with lots of festivities.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Steakhouse was such a great experience and the food was delicious beyond words. The dining room was good, some hits and misses, but the service was always incredible. The buffets could benefit from being spread out a little more, but the food was good and the staff kept it stocked and clean.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Always enjoy the coloring/craft activities and trivia. The trivia host was okay, he didn't seem to be tuned into what was going on around him and a bit monotone versus fun and engaging. We had some trouble with the app, which wasn't showing the Dive In movies and seemed to be missing some information. Otherwise, had a great time with the activities that we participated in!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment was awesome, we really enjoyed the music talent and production shows. I was surprised not to see a farewell show, honestly loved the singers and dancers so much that we wanted more opportunities to see them.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward was wonderful and made our experience even better. The bartenders at the Alchemy Bar had no urgency and seemed to be socializing more than making drinks, which is one of my only complaints. The theater servers were impressive and quick. Our cruise director seemed to be new in his position, but did a great job.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Freedom was a clean, beautiful ship and, although we missed the "whale tail" funnel, we enjoyed viewing and exploring the ship very much.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our interior stateroom was comfortable, clean, and cozy. We like interiors, it's like a little spot to rest and reset.
Ship tip
The elevators were closed for awhile during embarkation and debarkation for moving the luggage around, it may be good to plan ahead (extra time, room placement, etc.) if you have mobility issues.
We loved Amber Cove, we did not do an excursion this time, but enjoyed the sky bar view's with yummy snacks and some fun shopping for coffee and chocolate. If/when we return to this port, we plan to do an excursion to see more of the countryside, many of the port's highlights are not walking distance.
My favorite port I have been to so far, the snorkeling was excellent and we did the Rainbow tram tour to see the island. The guide was awesome, we bought some artwork and enjoyed watching people feed the donkeys (they will tell you not to stand behind them, it's extremely good advice!). Had plenty of time to enjoy the beach after the tour, grabbed a drink from the Beached Whale - it was a great experience!
Thanks for sharing. Great review. I just got off the Freedom yesterday with the same itinerary. We didn't even get off in Amber Cove because we didn't have an excursion. There is nothing near the cruise terminal. But we still had a great cruise.
