Review summary

Overall, this Carnival cruise was nice. This was my 2nd Carnival trip, my daughter's 1st trip. The price of the trip was the main reason we took the trip. I would take another Carnival trip, if the price is right, however overall, I would be more apt to pick a different cruise line for my next trip. The one downfall on the pool deck was the overly loud music, not of my liking. I feel other cruise lines would have a little different outlook on this.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was extremely easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
My family and I ate all our dinners in the Chic Restaurant. The staff were exceptional. The food was amazing. My daughter is a picky eater and they graciously changed the chicken plate to suit her.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My daughter really enjoyed the water slides. We both enjoyed the Walk the Plank, and 90's music trivia.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We both very much enjoyed the 80's flashback shows. We loved attending karaoke. My daughter really enjoyed the opportunity to sing 2 songs. The ice carving was very nice.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My daughter is 8, and did try out the Club Ocean, but was not really happy about the club. She said it wasn't as exciting as she had hoped. I am thinking it was because she was on the upper level of ages for her group the Sting Rays. Had she been able to participate with the 9-11 year olds I feel she would have had more fun.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
There is not one staff member I have any complaints about. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Our room steward, Hedi was so funny! He was a riot with my daughter and her stuffed animals.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The staff did a very nice job of cleaning. Daily I would witness people walking about with buckets collecting the cups/dishes, or cleaning handrailings. I never felt any areas were unclean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was very clean. I tried to tidy up every morning prior to leaving for the day, but Hedi did an amazing job of freshening up our towels.

Ship tip

Remember to wear shoes on the pool deck.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
We only did our embarkation and debarkation at Port Canaveral.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Getting on/off the ship was easy. I, personally, didn't care for the pushy people on the main street. The taxi drivers were rude, and very pushy. Overall, we walked around for a bit, but ended up going back to the ship much earlier than the time allotted.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
The island was clean, I felt the chairs were relaxing. Getting to and from the island was very easy. One main disappointment was that all the activities planned (tug-of war, limbo, and sandcastle building) did not occur. These activities were listed on the Carnival HUB app, but did not actually happen. My daughter was disappointed.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Breakfast was great, and getting off the ship was super easy. We did a walkoff, with 7 people who were traveling with us. The process was smooth.
