Glad to be back to cruising. Not the newest, grandest, state of the art ship with a plethora of things to do...just a great getaway with excellent ports and great staff. Excellent time.

Easy as pie...just wish Faster to the Fun was available for added perks🤪. Arrived at 11am time...on boat by noon-ish.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Overall...very good. Can definitely feel the challenges in supply chain and staffing with overall selection and quality but no complaints. Most meals in Chic for dinner...wait times over an hour for Elegant night even through the Hub app...breakfast at Posh every morning no wait and great service.
Blue Iguana Cantina

Excellent as always with Salsa Bar back up...not too long of a wait.

Excellent service and food quality. Service impeccable and a great dining experience.
Onboard Activities

For what they have to offer for an older ship, it's fun. Pools over crowded but that's to be expected with over 3400 guests. Plenty of hot tubs and Serenity lounge spacious.
Entertainment

Dj was excellent along with the Caribbean tunes musician. Main theater venues were new (within two weeks rehearsal) and were okay...nothing special and you knew they were working out the kinks of the show and getting a rhythm.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Being a full capacity ship while lacking around 175 staff in various areas, you have to hand it to the staff for pulling overtime duties to provide a great experience. Our Chic waiter was called from California to assist with Freedom and added another 2 months of work before getting time off. They all are working tirelessly (with a N95 mask) and don't skip a beat. They deserve nothing but praises and patience on our behalf.

Older ship but clean.

Great Aft balcony view with sunsets on the way down and sun rises on the way back.
Ship tip
Do it. It's a great fun ship with plenty to enjoy.
One of my favorite spots. Small island, beyond beautiful beaches and water. Just rent a golf cart and tour the 6.5 mile island...pull into a beach area for an hour and find another one. Best conch ever at John's Oceanview.
Easy...lengthier than previous cruises. A lot of time spent for passenger with luggage and then a free for all for us having to claim luggage...was tight and crowded but no issues.
I’m glad you enjoyed your cruise on the Carnival Freedom. Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed, very informative and very positive review. We have enjoyed all of our 8 cruises to date and are excited about cruising on the Freedom this October. 😎🚢☀️🩴🏝🪸🐠🌺
