Review summary

Cruising is always a great family experience for us all! We try to alternate road trips with cruises every year because cruising provides easy, yet fun entertainment and great dining experiences without the intense planning that is required for road trips. We have always cruised with Carnival and continue to be loyal to the Carnival Cruise line!

A bit lenghy, but verifly made it easier!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Absolutely excellent in all dining rooms and bar areas! We loved both seaside brunches and our nightly dinners were always very exciting and delicious!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My boys always love the sport deck! They make many friends as they play basketball, in line at the waterslide, and at they gym.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were top notch! The director of 80s show, who was a dancer as well, deserves huge accolades because the set design was incredibly creative and the performances were amazing!

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My teenage girls had a lot of fun making bracelets every day! I'd like there to be more arts and crafts that appeal to the Circle C age group.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Outstanding in all areas! Always so happy, helpful, and truly go above and beyond providing the best service to my entire family.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was just enough space for the 4 of us to be comfortable. We loved the balcony!

Ship tip

Do ALL THE THINGS! You can sleep when you're dead!

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We visited the National Park and did the waterfall hike. We booked our excursion through Spirit. This required a little bit of extra walking to meet the guide and tour bus outside of the port main gate. However, we were thankful for this because we found out that Carnival tours would not allow cruisers to do the 6ft jump into the pool. Because we booked an outside excursion, my very adventurous older children were looking forward to the jump and wer able to do this part of the tour!

Grand Turk Island

We booked a snorkling excursion with Carnival after an attempt to book a smaller, private snorkling trip for our party of 10. It was enjoyable, however it was a crowded boat and they did not have enough life vests for all the people on the boat. They were short 3 vests. We had 2 stops and saw a lot of fish and "the wall." Typically, I pay a little more money to have a private boat for my party of 10, but this excursion was sold out by the time we received our negative Covid test.

Disembarkation

The line was extremely long and took over 2 hours. There needs to be improvements made for sure.
