Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I manage a restaurant so I may be a little less inclined to rate any food experience poorly. I usually eat in the MDR every night, enjoy breakfast at the lido buffet and eat lunch at the blue iguana cantina. I really enjoy the option of getting more than one appetizer or entree if that's what you want.
Onboard Activities

We hung out by the pool, gambled in the casino, visited the piano bar and enjoyed the atrium band
Entertainment

the Freedom band in the atrium was awesome. headlined by a England born female singer and accompanied by her band, they played a mixture of music the 2 violins were great as well. I wasn't overly impressed by the stage shows in the theater
Service and Staff

We received the best service ever at the Red Frog Rum bar from 2 guys both named Gusti. From the first drink on the Lido deck, to shots at dinner, to late night drink in the Deck parties, they were great. I was a solo cruiser who through a FB group connected with a group of 5 other women and 2 men, Gusti A and Gusti B took care of all of us. they knew everyones drink preferences and really made hanging out and using the Cheers program a success. Kristofer and Sherwin were also very helpful in the theater, karoake and paint bar
Ship Quality

my cabin was on the 7th deck and room service was wonderful. Steward was helpful and friendly. WORD of caution, rooms only have 1 outlet available so charging a watch, and phone for 1 person was hard. I suggest bringing a surge protected multiple plug adapter for the room if you're a multiple electronics person
Cabin / Stateroom

Interior room is wonderful for single cruiser location was great and close to casino and pool deck areas
Ship tip
only one outlet in room. bring an extension cord if you are traveling with others or if you are a multiple electronics person
Crazy amazing port. lazy river pool, shopping and drink options are located directly in Port. we had food and drinks at coco cans. credit cards are accepted for purchases but you can't tip on your card. bring cash to tip the servers/bartenders
beach area and pool in Port. jimmy buffets Margaritaville has an awesome lazy river type pool area. no luck getting drinks from there if there is more than 1 ship in port. enjoyed some shopping but went back to ship to enjoy the pool and get drinks without waiting 30 minutes
I travel with a passport and used self embarkation and from the time they called " my zone", snaking around the evelators, entering the atrium
down the gangplank to walking outside of the port terminal was 24 minutes.
We had a great time on the Freedom in March too. The Freedom band with the English lead singer was fantastic with all genres of music. I agree the stage shows were okay. Perwin and Philip at the aft pool bar are one of Carnival’s best and we became fast friends. We also had a blast with Scott Lyles in the piano bar. Glad you had similar experiences!
