Review summary

As always, Carnival did a great job of making us feel welcome. We were disappointed in the lack of kid friendly activities with the Kids Club being closed and them being unable to get off the ship (other than the private island). The food, drinks, and staff were all fabulous no matter where you go.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Much more streamline than usual with smaller arrival windows

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Always delicious with very personable staff

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Our family loved doing Trivia with Lucy, watching movies out by the pool, and some fun scavenger hunts! The whirlpools were the same temperature as the pool which was a little disappointing and were missing out on some more kid friendly activities.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The performers were all EXTREMELY talented, but (I assume due to COVID) the productions were a little less extravagant than in the past.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Our 15 year old loved spending time at the O2 club, but very few children showed up for any activities and the kids club was closed for anyone under 12. Our 8 year old was very disappointed but tried to make the best of meeting new friends out by the pool deck. We were disappointed in a lack of kid friendly substitute activities, especially on port days where the kids couldn't get off the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was outstanding, particularly "Playboy" (Pavloi) in the dining room, Shannon at O2 club and Lucy from the Fun Squad. I neglected to get the name of our room steward, but he continually delighted our son with new and different towel animals and always greeted us by name with a smile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We saw folks constantly cleaning the ship and everything seemed clean and well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The interior room was typical, our only gripe was with the size of the shower...but to be expected.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
Miami is fine, we got dinner the night before but didn't do any excursions.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

3 out of 5
The beach was OK, hardly any shopping/souvenir options (since this was the only port our son could get off at), and received mixed messages about whether our drink package was valid on the island...disappointed it wasn't. Not much to do.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
The port and surrounding area was gorgeous - but super limited if you didn't book an excursion.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It went very smoothly, but felt as if we were being rushed off the ship before 8:30a

Just curious, did you not know before hand kids activities were closed? I knew, and i don't have small children.
