Review summary

Overall it was a nice cruise. Ship was clean and staff was real nice. Food was average. Try the Sea day brunch instead of going to lido deck...delicious. I would not sail on the Freedom again only because I really didn't care for the layout but the ship itself was nice. Any day on a cruise is better than being in the office...

I didn't care for the layout of the Carnival Freedom. A few of the decks did not go all the way thru so you would have to go a deck or two up and come back down to continue on. The ship was clean. The staff was always cleaning and making sure tables was cleared so others can sit. Love the adult only pool in the aft deck on 9 .. this adults only was an addition to the serenity adult only on deck 11. The serenity deck for adults only was a "two level " deck with hot tubs being on deck 11 which needed more of the "cocoon type" lounge chairs. Deck 10 add nice seating areas with the bar.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was very nice location. Was a little worried because it located below the galley, but never heard any noise form above. Ocean view near the elevators below deck 3 Posh dining room and deck 9 lido deck. Not very quiet due to neighbors that was noisy in the hallways at times. Our room steward, sorry can't remember his name, was very efficient in keeping our stateroom clean. We choose to have our room services day and evening (now they ask you for a choice. Shower always had nice hot water. Was really surprised that the tiny refrigerator kept our items chilled at a reasonable temperature.

Ship tip

Some of the decks don't go all the way thru, so you may need to go up a deck and come back down to get to wear you are going. The lido deck is multi levels and be ther early for athe dive in movies cause the lounge chairs go fast. Overall it was a tipical Carnival Ship nice but nthing really spectaular.

Nice port, there is shopping and a beach area within walking distance. Plenty of transportation or excursions offered out side the ship area.

Very organized and smooth. No issue was off the ship with in a hour. If you have tobacco or alcohol, you will be required to pay a Texas tax whether you are a resident or not
