Review summary

Overall this cruise was OK. We had 14 people in our party & 4 had never cruised. I know we looked forward to this Celebration Cruise fo my sister & brother in law’s 50 Wedding Anniversary, but did not expect people to get sick & the disembarking experience to be so unorganized.

Embarkation

Was a little different than previous Carnival cruises from Galveston. Some good changes, some not.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean and mostly comfortable. Except for room temps when after a shower & room gets warm. AC cannot get running to cool down. Was told by maintenance staff that Carnival has a 70-74 temp for all rooms. Offered a fan, but I was in sure where the would plug it in. There was only one plug in room & one in bathroom. This made it very hard to charge electronic devices for 3 people.

Ship tip

Extension cord with multiple plugs would be great.

Disembarkation

Worst ever disembarkation I have ever had with Carnival. There should be a theater, bar or large area for all passangers with their carry off luggage. Those of us that checked our bags had difficulties in finding a place to sit & getting around all those bags of luggage & it was dangerous. We had older passengers & sick people that needed to sit down. Finally a crew staff opened the balcony of the Vitorian theater so they could sit. I was so thankful for that staff’s help. I don’t know what we would have done without his help.

I Always take a power strip wherever I go...even visiting relatives.

To me just sometimes they are not organised but mostly we have had no problems on the cruises we have done ....

Yea getting sick could happen anytime and anywhere. With the plug in issues bring one that you can plug multiples in if needed. Why was embarkation good and not?

Seems like it was bad timing and getting sick while on vacation just sucks.. but I guess it can happen anytime and anywhere but is pretty common in confined areas .. the Debarkation might of been because of customs but yes it really is carnival that makes it or brakes it when your leaving the ship ... hope your next experience is better....

I too have cruised with Carnival & many other lines and this was the very worst organized debarkation I have ever experienced!

We did not get sick with the food. Most came home with the flu. I understand almost all parts of Texas has it. Poor timing!

That's not true about the room temps. We can get our cabin downright frosty if we want to. Of course we always stay in the same cabin.

Sorry....Was it the food ?

That's a shame with the Debarkation it seems when they get its right it's just so easy we have had 20 cruise and all so far have been so very easy both on and off but I guess we have been lucky... also did your family get sea sick or way it the food ? We have just got off the Legend for a Christmas cruise and the cabin was so cold every day so you really can not win ... but I would much rather be cold than hot any day .. sounds like over all your cruise was good and you all enjoyed overall and hope your next cruise is just as enjoyable.. hope your hooked as we are 🎣🍹😎
