Check out other ships before booking!

Room Type: Inside

If cruising with a a family with kids above 7, check out the activities onboard. Carnival should offer activities up to midnight at no charge because there are several adult activities to do. For 2 kids, I would pay $15/hr each night over what I already paid for the cruise. Also, Carnival should re-evaluate their actual activities and time they do paid for activities (early evening). Ship size is almost too big as far as waiting in buffet lines, chairs by pool, waiting to get on and off ship at ports. We waited 1 and 1/2 hours in hot afternoon sun in line in Cayman islands to get back on ship. RIDICULOUS! Why are there no garbage cans in the commom areaa of the ship. Very iritating to have to go into a stinky bathroom every time you need to throw something away. The decor of the ship is OK but it make the ship look older than it actually is and kind of on the dark side. I would give the ship a "C" grade but will look into other options next time.

Pros: clean, appropriate size stateroom, had a kids club, breakfast buffet was great,

Cons: lack of customer service, no trash cans, dinner buffet, no chair around pool for day at sea, kids activities not planned well

Recommends Carnival Freedom? No.

Food and Dining
Dinner buffet food was not very good unless you got a salad and bread.
Service and Staff
Unfortunately, Carnival needs some more training on this ship with the exception of the head social people (directors of different events)
Entertainment
Ship needs to have more early evening shows, less trivia and more interactive avtivities during late afternoon.
Children's Programs
Needs to offer free activities through midnight. For 12-14 year olds, find some better organized activities so they are not gathering in certain public areas of ship throughout day.
Ship Quality
Decor makes ship look older than actually is.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was as expected. Stateroom steward was Great!
