Review summary

Overall a terrific first cruise for me (second for my wife). My wife booked it as surprise Easter getaway. The only downside was we didn't realize it was also spring break for a lot of kids. No issues onboard as a result, but it did mean we were one of 5 ships in port at Nassau. Senor Frog's was standing room only due the ships in port & lower drinking age, but at least it wasn't boring.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Being my first cruise, I had nothing to compare it to. In my opinion, everything seemed to move smooth with very little wait.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dinner in the Imagination dinning room was fantastic every night. I never knew cruises offered such a variety of tasty choices.

Imagination Dining Room

5 out of 5

The only thing more amazing than the food was our wait staff.

Coconut Grove Bar and Grill

5 out of 5

Loved the palm tree decor & atmosphere. Made it feel like a floating tropical Island.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Being my first cruise I didn''t take part in too many activities, a mistake never to be repeated. I did however enter the hairy chest competition, without my wife''s knowledge. The only thing more fun was when my wife found out, thanks to other cruisers recognizing me from the competition. We enjoyed our couples massage so much, we decided it would become a first sea day tradition on all future cruises.

Spa Carnival

5 out of 5

Couples massage was so relaxing. Will definitely become a sea day tradition for the wife and myself.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Love & Marriage show was fun, but it also depends on the questions the couples are asked. Playlist Productions crew put on amazing stage shows as well.

Children's Programs

Don''t have children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I know it''s part of their job to be friendly, but I admired the great attitude of every crew member i met. Our room stewards and dinning wait staff were nothing short of amazing. I was surprised how quickly they learned names and preferences of so many people without making you feel like just another face in the crowd.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the design and decor of the ship. With all the palm trees on Lido deck, between the pool area and Coconut Grove Bar & Grill, you feel like you''re already on a tropical island while still onboard.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was perfect size for the two of us. Stewards did a wonderful job.

Ship tip

Being a smaller ship, walk everywhere you can. You'll generally get wherever you're going faster than if you wait on an elevator.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

5 out of 5
I'm a little biased since it's my hometown, but Jacksonville Zoo & MOSH (Museum of Science & History) are both great experiences if you have extra time and less than 15 minutes from port. Apparently lots of people like to watch from the top deck as the ship passes under the Dames Point Bridge looking closer to hitting the bridge than it really is. I can't deny the fact that I was one of them.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Simply breathtaking! The pristine looking beach and bright turquoise water were even more beautiful than we had imagined! It was even more amazing than pictures we had seen.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Catamaran/snorkeling excursion was fun. Plenty of fish to see, but according to crew the coral was dying off and not as colorful due in large part to human pollution. Senor Frog's was non-stop entertainment.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again no previous experience for comparison, but seemed to move along pretty well.

So glad you enjoyed your first and hopefully will mean many more. Yes Spring Break and holidays always comes with lots of kids. My husband walks with a cane and worries about tripping and when you add kids running around in the mix it worries him so we always try to plan our trips well to avoid that. Happy Cruising!
