Review summary

Rooms smelt musty, Guest services were training people and things were entered incorrectly and it messed us up on when attemped to buy items on private island and on the ship which was quite embarassing. Being told on private island not to come back to an area where we were trying to get water and drinks in front of others did not help us enjoy. It wasn't until later that we heard it was people who paid their deposits with cash that this happened too. Nothing was done to accomodate, guest services were actually quite rude. Hearing someone state..." Do you know how many people we serve everyday? Even when you all get off in a few hours we have a whole new set of people to serve for the next cruise. So in turn, since there is so much turnover, they have their guaranteed money customer service is not important. When we went to Nassau, we needed a wake up call since the wake up call feature on the phone were not working. Call Guest Services so we wouldn't miss our exursion to Atlantis for the Dolphin Deep Water Trip and we never got the wake up call. Almost missed the excursion. Was very disappointed. I went on Carnival in 2000 and went to another liner and when we saw this ship was going out of Jacksonville, thought we would try again. I would much prefer to drive a few extra hours (after driving 12 hours straight) and hop on another liner after seeing that the customer does not matter. We also ordered stuff for our honeymoon and room was never done. Very disappointing. I've been on 6 cruises but this was my husbands first. Ruined the experience for him.

Same kind of food 24 hours a day. I can understand havin some things that are the same but everything? Special options? Nothing was done for our honeymoon as requested.

Entertainment

was shocked that there was not more activities to include passenger on the lido deck and dance parties in the night. The karaoke guy "Jay" was the highllight of the entire cruise and we don't do Karaoke.

Service and Staff

Customer service was not good, was told as you can see above, that they stated they serve so many people that when we get off at end that they have a whole new shipload in a few hours. Basically, you are treated as a number not as the customer as one should be. Extremely disappointed. I have been on 6 cruises and this was worst experience.

Rooms were musty, areas would close before people were actually done. Announcements were barely heard sometimes received the daily iternary.

The Beach was amazing, horseback riding in water and around island was breathtaking. We had a bad experience since we were told to use our ship and sail card on island since it was ship owned and were not served. Not the only ones either. We also scheduled to also parasail and came back early so we could make it, were sent from checkin place to wehre the parasailing was supposed to be and to sign a waiver and were sent back and forth and back and forth to wear someone finally said it was cancelled. Wish someone would have said it earlier so that we could have spent more time than 30 minutes on their amazing beach.

Pros: Riding horses in water and dolpin deep water

Cons: Customer Service and their computer problems created many problems

Recommends Carnival Fascination? No.
