This is my third Carnival Cruise. I'll definitely be back on board next year. Where, exactly? I have no idea. But, looking forward to it!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Smooth and fast. There was a line, sure, but everything flowed.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining is always the best choice. However, when they ask how you want something cooked, it doesn't necessarily come out that way. There were several disappointments in my group each day. The Blue Iguana Cantina needs better hours, AND, the good folks at the Pizza Pirate need to know how to manage a line. Pizza is one of the LONGEST waits 24/7.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed being able to run on the top deck track. Pools were nice, and not overcrowded. Plenty of deck space for laying out and soaking up the sun. One hot tub had maintenance issues the entire cruise, and was taken out of service. Hot tub wasn't that hot, either. Just warm. They had two water slides, along with mini golf, and a gym. I passed on those.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainment was spot on. The two comedians they had on board were absolutely hilarious in all their shows. Bring back Dan Mengini and JR Brow for the comedy entertainment! Also, while not on this cruise, they need to see about getting Andy Avery for some musical entertainment. Former Journey singer after Steve Perry left.
Karaoke was top notch and fun, but they need to expand their available playlists. The stage shows were good, at least the ones we saw.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Have to be honest here... While the ship personnel were definitely quite friendly, and seemed to be genuinely interested in service, I sensed a disconnect from previous cruises. Maybe it was just me, this time.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was kept clean and orderly. The cleaning crews really come alive in the middle of the night. It was an amazing sight to behold at 2am.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Average sized cabin. Had to put a towel down on the entryway due to excessive light. Very comfortable bedding, A/C worked great, bathroom was standard. Would loved to have seen a comparison to a suite stateroom. :D
Ship tip
Never miss main dining. Never miss breakfast or brunch at the main dining locations. Order multiple items off the menu (You're allowed!)
The on site signage for directions to the parking terminal were quite lacking... as in.. NONE. They had police units positions at various entry points telling people where to get in line for the parking garage entrance. The GPS address for the terminal takes you to a completely different location. Other than that, it was ok, and easy to find.
Second time here. Both times we went to Mr. Sancho's Resort, which is not a Carnival excursion option. Port shops immediately available when you get off the ship are way overpriced. Go past the taxi area across the street for better pricing.
