Review summary

Service was far LESS than expected. Pre-determined gratuities is NOT a good idea. Never was. Observe the staff on this ship and you see the perfect example-- These people are just doing their jobs, and are not happy about it, and certainly way less than enthused. No one was rude to us, but there was clearly no enthusiasm. It actually makes a big difference; no friendly conversation, not even eye contact usually. As other reviews have stated, it's an old ship, which means staterooms are a little bigger, but there is no promenade deck. (No muster to lifeboat stations at the mandatory drill. Hmmm.....) Food was not impressive. Overall, we're not booking on Carnival again; we expect better from Norwegian or Royal Carribean.
