Review summary

Amazing first cruise. This was my mom's bucket list cruise, so there was 11 of us cruising together. We had a fantastic experience and so glad we chose Carnival Elation for our first cruise experience. We thoroughly enjoyed Gabe as our Cruise Director, the shows, the games, the Lido Deck, and it was small enough to get around easily, yet large enough to have the full cruise experience. The ports were beyond beautiful and Junkanoo had the most amazing service we could ask for. Made memories to last a lifetime!

Embarkation

Very hectic. Crowded and unclear on what was needed at each stopping point along the way

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room was fantastic. The buffet was ok. Not a lot of variety for picky eaters (my family) and, typical of buffet, the food was lukewarm. Breakfast was the best meal each day. The salad bar was awesome. The staff was absolutely incredible throughout though.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The games were a bit expensive, but prizes were wonderful (if you were lucky enough to win). Deal or No Deal was over the top...very fun, entertaining and definitely worth the money. Pools were well kept and music variety was excellent. Casino was fun and piano bar was amazing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Perfection! Over the top in this category! Very entertaining, wide variety, fun, funny and worth every minute.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Both 5 year old and 14 year old thought the clubs were "boring". They spent very little time there.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Over the top! Arsenal (room steward) was top notch and beyond attentive making everything perfect, quick to respond and daily checking in. Pio was spot on for service at the pool and in shows.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design is good as I have nothing to compare too. Cleanliness is amazing with the exception of the public area restrooms (which I would guess is very difficult to keep top notch, but they were always low on toilet paper, floors were wet and paper on floors)

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had 5 in our cabin and were comfortable. The layout was sufficient for us. We had a motorized scooter (and not accessible room, which is a lesson learned), so a bit crowded, but overall the room was excellent.

Ship tip

Take the time to get to know the ship and enjoy every minute! The more you do and see, the more you'll enjoy your adventure.

Disembarkation

Customs was way too long. No clue why the line didn't move more quickly as the agent quickly validated documents and sent us onward. The Passport lines were completely empty, while the document lines were overflowing. Very inefficient.
