Our honeymoon cruise after being married the day before.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went very smoothly. Parking at the Parking Mall went well, and check in was very smooth. Faster to the Fun was worth it for us. Shorter lines for processing and a little quicker onboard. We were able to immediately walk to our cabin and drop off carry on luggage so "hands free" by 11 am. All luggage at room by 1:30.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Did not eat at buffet except continental breakfast for Nancy and coffee. Enjoyed food at MDR and early traditional dining. Ate at same table every evening with 8 others and enjoyed meeting all of them. I eat typically carnivore so just don't eat sugar, bread and starchy side dishes. Ate a ton of good food without gaining weight. Only dessert I have eaten in last 5 months was the creme brulee, without the sugar crust. Excellent as usual. Wait staff was fast attentive and uniquely entertaining. Also enjoyed sea day brunches and omelette bar between Guy's and Blue Iguana on port mornings. Guy's burgers rocks! Nancy liked the MDR variety and ability to order multiple items.

Romeo & Juliet Lounge

4 out of 5

Sang karaoke every evening. Had a lot of fun. KJs were all nice, but equipment and particularly the available song selection were woefully lacking. Carnival should improve here.

Onboard Activities

Serenity

5 out of 5

Went to hot tub early on both sea days. Enjoyed not too crowded conditions and towel service. Absence of kids also a large plus.

Gymnasium

5 out of 5

Worked out at gym at 6 am on both sea days. Same brand of weight machines as the Planet Fitness I go too. Enjoyed the sauna one day. Men's locker area very nice

Entertainment

Mikado Main Lounge

Enjoyed the Heart and Soul show. Very good songs and performances. Had seen Epic Rock on YouTube so wasn't compelled to attend live. Comedian John Knight fair, not great. Bingo not very thrilling.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent job by wait staff and room Steward Ketut, who took care of all our requests such as ice twice daily, bathrobes, and Sharps container for Nancy. Also told him of broken grab bar in bathroom and it was fixed within an hour. All staff we saw were hard working and very friendly and accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
To be its age,the ship was very clean. Staff were constantly seen cleaning up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was very conveniently located for us. We enjoyed the balcony particularly for sunrises. Was worried that having an adjoining door to another cabin would be a noise problem but was not the case.

Ship tip

Take comfortable shoes and water shoes for Princess Cay

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We were supposed to take a boat tour that didn't happen. Only really disappointing thing that happened during the cruise. Was not booked with Carnival but a reputable third party vendor so money at least to be refunded. Did go to Junkeroo museum, ok if you like "Mardi gras attire" as we do. Also visited the new shops near port. Very nice new and clean but souvenirs pricey. Liked welcome center video board 3D effects. Shout out to security guys near taxi stand at the wharf who helped try to find out info about our boat excursion before it was supposed to happen. Also tram at cruise ship very handy

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Enjoyable beach experience. We avoided the crowds and stayed on the south side. Food ok except for flies at fruit, but not sure how it could be helped. Went through the gate and bought a few souvenirs on the Non princess cay part of the island. Faster to the Fun again came through with a priority tender from ship to island.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We stayed long enough to enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the omelette bar before leaving. Again Faster to the Fun was helpful in getting us in smaller wait lines. Customs was fast and efficient, even with birth certificates. We checked in two large pieces of luggage and if you do this, I highly recommend getting a porter when you get your luggage. He took all our luggage from there to the shuttle to the Parking Mall. Shuttle very quick to car and was 45 minutes from the Lido deck to the car.
