It is not fair for me to rate this cruise as I had to care for my grandchildren while their parents enjoyed the cruise, which they did. It was their first time and wonโt be their last.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Did not realize we would have to carry all of our luggage up several long ramps to the top level. Two of us are nearly 70 years old with a two and four year old and their parents. We each had two bags and NO ONE offered to help and the height frightened the children. Be sure to choose an early check in time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Good variety and quality.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
My job was to watch the children so their parents could enjoy the cruise. While the four year old enjoyed the kids ocean club the two year old did not and since he was still in diapers could not go in the pool. There was absolutely no place for him to play and burn up energy. Not even a splash/water play area. Only on the beach could he play and have fun.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Some of them were very good but I did not attend any shows.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Great for our four year old. Terrible for the two year old who would not stay at the club without me and there was nothing else to do.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
No complaints. They worked hard to care for our needs.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Cleanliness was good but getting to the correct dining room the first evening was a nightmare with two young children in tow. The kitchen is between the two main dining rooms with similar names and you have to go up or down one level and across the ship and then back to the level the dining room entry was on. It took three trips to get to my assigned dining room. I had a meltdown especially after shortly before dinner having the horrible boarding experience.
Cabin / Stateroom

Kids would not sleep in the bunk beds or cribs. I should have had the beds put together to make a king size bed.
Ship tip
Donโt take a two year old or younger on a cruise!
Should have visited town and pirate museum as originally planned but ended up doing the family beach day. At least the two year old was able to play on the beach.
Hope you enjoyed the opportunity of spending so much time with your grandchildren, at least the younger one. You may never have that chance again. Many grandparents would give anything for that experience. Sorry that having difficulty finding the correct dining room caused you to have a meltdown.
You didn't have to carry your own bags - that is what the porters are for. You made a choice. You also have a choice not to rate a cruise at all, so perhaps think about that when you start a review with "it's not fair for me to rate this cruise." You are right about one thing, though - babies and toddlers don't belong on a cruise ship.
