Review summary

Nice getaway for the price. I enjoyed it. Elation is a nice old boat.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was not a bad experience. We were able to board the boat before 11 am. The only hiccup we had was that we failed to check in, so when it was time to board, we had to be taken out of line to check in. Otherwise, smooth process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Average. The only complaint was that they ran out of diet soda. Because my husband is a diabetic, we brought a 12-pack with us. Still disconcerting to realize I could not have a bourbon and Diet Pepsi.

Bonsai Sushi Express

5 out of 5

Loved it! However, they only had one worker for a lot of people. Pack your patience at this venue.

The jacuzzis on Lido deck were cold!

Ship Quality

Not bad for an old ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

I took off a few stars because of the towels. The towels were dingy. You could tell they were once white but age had turned them or brackish water, which was noted in some of the bathrooms on board. It was disconcerting as it had me double checking the towels for cleanliness.

Ship tip

The Serenity deck is their best kept secret. It’s on deck 9 past the Alchemy Bar. You have to go past staterooms to get there.
