Even though we had some issues, it turned out to be an enjoyable and relaxing cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It was quick and easy. Years ago we would spend a long time in lines waiting to get to the desk to check in. We waited a little longer than usual to get a porter. It would have been rated a Great Embarkation experience.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was good. We have had better on past carnival cruises. They need to hire/train someone to bake moist cakes. The cakes were beautiful, but extremely dry. They need to offer more of a variety on the Lido deck for lunch. It appeared they were serving the same or very similar dishes every day. Every dish that appeared to be Italian needed more seasoning.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The Spa, Deck parties, liquor tasting, casino, karaoke, and trivia games were enjoyable.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were ok. We've seen better on other carnival cruises. Musicians and DJs were AWESOME! (We didn't go to the piano bar; so, I'm not sure about that musician).
Children's Programs
I didn't bring any children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We received excellent service as usual on a Carnival Cruise. They were attentive to our needs. When there were issues; they resolved them quickly and/or had creative alternative solutions.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was clean and well maintained. They ship's layout was good. We always enjoy a smaller ship (you can get to areas more quickly)
Cabin / Stateroom

The room was clean. Size is always great for Carnival Cruises, but the beds were surprisingly smaller than we are used to on a carnival (we had twin beds). The refrigerator never worked. I kept requesting maintenance to look at it. I also reported it to our steward. As a temporary solution our steward gave us ice in a cooler to keep our beverages cold. We upgraded/paid more for a room with a refrigerator, and it didn't work. This is unaccepatable. If we were going to rely on the steward to give us ice twice a day every day, then we could have saved money and got a cheaper room.
Ship tip
Even though this ship is one of the oldest and smaller in the Carnival Cruise, keep an open mind and get ready for the F U N on this Carnival ship! It was like cruising with one big happy family; we kept running into the same people whose company we enjoyed (on larger ships it's hard to do).
We always enjoy Nassau. We didn't do an excursion this visit. We just went directly to the shops we like to visit. I hope the construction is complete when we return.
Surprisingly, this port had more to offer than I thought the last time I was there. There was a lot to see and do. I enjoyed the games conducted by the cruise team. I took the bike adventure excursion. That was a very relaxing and enjoyable excursion.
It was a bit confusing. They were calling out tags and muster stations. We thought we understood to go when they called our muster station AND our tag number, but that was not the case. We thought they were going to say something like muster station D and those with tag 14 can disembark. We were not alone; others were confused about that too. Once we disembarked the ship, the rest was quick and easy (immigration & getting a porter).
