I am normally not a complainer and nor do I write reviews very often - but we came on this ship to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday - this was also my husbands first cruise. I am not sure he will go on another one. This makes me very sad.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Dining room was fine - portions extremely small, Steak was very touch, took forever to be acknowledged. The buffet was a nightmare over a 45 minute wait for breakfast. Breakfast served in the dining room was only available until 9:30
The only thing we ate that was good was the omelette made in the deli. Other than that is sucked. Toasters weren’t working - everyone was complaining -
Definately need more food choices especially with the money spend to get on the ship - all food should be included no matter what restaurant you go to.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Not enough pool space for 2100 passengers - you were in there like sardines. he serenity deck only had 2 hot tubs - and they were both packed.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The DJ that played was great (They were oriental) and played all kinds of music - fantastic !!!
Punchline wasn’t that funny - maybe because we got there early and got a table, paid for our drinks and had front row until 20 people came and stood in front of us. So rude and no one would do anything about it.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Embarking and first day the staff was so friendly - everyday that dwindled down -
My room steward was great. You had several dealers that were unfriendly -
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
All floors should be able to walk through from the front of the boat to the back of the boat -
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very nice an Ohari was wonderful.
Ship tip
I wont sail again on the Elation - I have been on Royal Caribbean for 7 days and it was so much fun, the dining room had good entertainment and the food was great.
People standing in front of you & you said no one did anything about it? Um you could have said something. Next time take your husband on a bigger & newer ship, I can almost guarantee you he'll have a better experience!!
The elation is one of the oldest and smallest ships carnival has no cruise ship will let you walk from the front to the back on every deck
Kind of sounds like you let not getting breakfast ruin the rest of your cruise next time try not to choose the smallest chip in the fleet in the middle of the summer
Guys, do your research on ships before booking. This ship is among the oldest in the fleet, so it won’t have many things we are accustomed to on newer vessels. Also, breakfast may end at 9:30, but did you check brunch? Hmmmm, ask around, check the fun times in your app, lots of things to learn about what is available and when. I hate the food wasn’t as expected, at times it can be less than great, and I hate that, but it’s not the end of the world. There are always options if you don’t like what is served.
Portions may be small...but you can order as many as you would like. The free steak in the dining room is always bad. Luckily there is always lots of other more interesting options.
Thanks for the review. A shorter cruise on an older ship during the summer is not the best option for a good experience. Try a longer cruise while schools are in session for a better experience.
