This was my first cruise. The staff was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating! The hidden fees were frustrating! This particular cruise is more for families. Everyone told me that "you can't even tell you are on a boat." You CAN most definitely tell you are on a boat! We did have two days of rain, so the waves were high. Everyone was walking around like we were drunk. It was hard to keep your balance. I put on a patch (for motion sickness) right away. I was still sick every day. I would much rather fly to a tropical island (probably not Nassau, because it is super commercialized) and pay for an all inclusive hotel.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It went smoothly and everyone was polite. I was not aware of the $80 parking fee.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The staff was great, but the food was flavorless. The drink package was good if you are going to drink 5+ drinks per day. I was charged for one drink. I was also charged for a drink I had at Princess Cay (even though the bartenders were the same as the staff on the boat).
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The boat is for children. The pool was very small and always packed. The other activities were kid activities (mini golf, bocce ball), so I did not partake.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The performers were ok, the girl at the karaoke was very good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was great. My room steward was amazing, Hubert.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was very clean (this is a big deal for me). The layout was a bit confusing.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was fine, just what I expected.
Ship tip
Go for a cruise that is all inclusive. Do not go on the Elation if you are childless.
We shopped and went to the Atlantis. The Atlantis said (online) that they had an aquarium tour for about $50. When we got there (by taxi) they said they no longer offer any packages except for a $250 one where you go into the tank. I will do an excursion if I go again.
The chairs fill up fast! We had to sit on the beach for most of it (in the sand). You have to pay for drinks even if you have the drink package. The snorkels were cheap to rent, so that was good. The lunch was ok (again... tasteless food). NOTE: You must bring your blue towel to the island AND bring it back! You will be charged $22 for any missing towel! Someone took my towel!
Interesting, one of the drawbacks to the cruise booking mill that this person used is the lack of information that my in person TA gives/gave me. But the cruise booking mill does have advantages, quick with extra perks like a bunch of points to my hotel loyalty program (as long as you know what you are doing and can correct their mistakes).
