Review summary

What was great, the sun and the fact we were not at work. The cruise was to a place that we had not been before and that is what we were looking forward to. Disappointed that we did not in my opinion receive the Carnival treatment we have become accustomed to. Wish I had checked that the ship was old and small. We are not people who struggle with sea sickness, however as I sit and type we are three days post ship and are still struggling with MDDS. The Cruise Director and entertainment staff could use some help and retraining for sure.

This process was faster than expected, certainly with the covid processes in place. I highly suggest using Verifly app.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Never tried the main dining room due to hearing constant complaints from fellow shipmates. The buffet only ever had one side open and the food was mushy and cold for the most part. Guy's buggers was our go to, and never disappoints.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pretty standard, the pool was small and there was only one pool on the ship.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
You could certainly tell this was the smallest ship and therefore they got the bottom of the barrel here. The shows were set up to be good, however the singers were terrible. The rock show was cringe worthy, and certainly when the lady singing Paradise City, knew none of the words so just chose to mumble and skip lines. The Power of Two that performed in the bar area, was really good, and should have been on the main stage instead.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Overall we found the staff to not be that friendly or helpful. Except for Niko who was our waiter by the pool and David our cabin steward. They were friendly, helpful and took the time to learn our names and habits. Honestly, for the first three days I swore that "cruise director Neil was a made up person who had just pre recorded announcements. We saw him only twice the whole cruise. There was never any activities on the pool decks while at seas etc. The day they raised money for St. Jude, I dropped $260 which was he leading donations, I never got a Tshirt, a thank you, nothing. I never have seen a cruise to be so lacking .

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was clean, you could certainly tell it was the oldest and smallest in the fleet

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Be prepared to be sea sick. With it being the smallest and oldest, you can feel everything. Bring meds, the ship sold out of meds within the first two hours of sailing.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

The pool area is nice and the water slides are a lot of fun. No need to do an excursion. Remember to bring your own raft. Don't bother with the VIP package, the service is not better

Grand Turk Island

At the last min we did an excursion to a beach. It was really nice, the staff were great, the rum punch was actually very good. It was worth the money.
