Review summary

This was my 41st cruise and the last of the Fantasy class ship my significant other has experienced. We love the beauty of the Elation, and other family members who have sailed less remarked on her beauty. The staff were personable and approachable. Don’t expect the big things that the big ships offer. Treat it like a more personable ship and it will satisfy you. Great memories were made.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth embarkation. We arrived early and waited approximately 1 hour due to staff drills so that was no problem!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We mostly used the dining for all meals and brunches. Only used the buffet for 2 breakfasts and everything was better than expected. We were a group of nine and had minimal wait for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their selections!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was plenty to keep everyone busy and didn’t spend much time in a certain area. There is something for everyone.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great energy and the singers belted it! The theater was filled to capacity on every show! Go to the comedy shows and visit the Piano bar!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The trainer in the spinning class kicked my butt! He kept me and my sis going, thanks Jason! Agung, our room steward worked tirelessly and made sure everyone had what they needed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It’s a smaller older ship but I prefer it’s “yacht-like” beauty. It is well maintained and the colors are pleasing to the eyes along with the dark woods. Staff are non-stop always polishing it and keeping all the bathrooms tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We picked a forward porthole room. Lots of room for us with a soft king bed, and a very quiet area with minimal outside traffic.

Ship tip

I have more than just one piece of advice! Embarkation and debarkation is on deck 7 along with all the atrium activities. There is no steakhouse on this ship so utilize the dining rooms if you can for the best food preparations. Check the Kennedy Space schedule. We were able to capture a rocket launch off the stern during our sail away!

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Beautiful island and great people live on this island. We rented golf carts and explored the island, lighthouse, beaches and had lunch at Barbara’s Kitchen. Beware, though. It’s the best Jerk chicken I’ve ever had and the portions are huge!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
A MUST is the Teracross Outback Adventure. Our guide was Kelvin and he made it so fun!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and easy. No complaints. We walked off the ship with our luggage at 8 and were in the shuttle by 8:45. If you can take your luggage off yourself everything works quicker!
