The entire experience was fine but it just seemed like Carnival was desperate to price gouge with every little thing. Why not just charge double before hand instead of hitting you with so many hidden fees and extras on things like normal every day necessities like water. Why not just give out complementary water each day when the staff clean the rooms? Something so small would go a long way and it wouldn't feel like we were nothing more than a money machine.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was fun and exciting, nice people, good music, live entertainment, new and exciting things to see and do
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
More free drink options would have made a huge difference. There is only so much lemonade a person can drink in 5 days. Also the availability of fresh water around the ship, like drinking fountains or free bottles, instead of only available in small cups in the buffet area would have been nice. Also the price gouging for bottled water, other beverages, and food was ridiculous.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The hot tubs were not hot, like 65-70 degrees at best. The swimming pool was too small. The kids had fun at the water slide area though. There should have been way better things to do.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
It seemed to be the the same thing every night, same musicians, same songs, just different locations
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
My 5 year old felt like the kids program was too much like day care. I envisioned like a room for kids with ball pits, games, other exciting things for them. Instead of a class room like setting with crayons and staff who were less than enthusiastic. Also the build a bear workshop, although fun, was a money pit price gouging factory.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were all wonderful, very courteous and respectful. Han took good care of us.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship slightly outdated, carpets, rusty, looking old in general. Our room windows were gross. Otherwise the trash was well picked up.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was fine besides the gross windows, also our bathroom smelled like cat pee the entire time.
Ship tip
Don't open the wine bottle at your fancy dinner table, it was $45 and we couldn't even drink it, it was so horrible. Also you can do your own laundry on floor 6, that was a real treat not having dirty laundry and not paying a fortune for someone else to do it. Also, if you happen to win (anything) at the "casino" make sure that you cash your card out before you leave. I was stuck with around $50 of winnings on my card thinking it would be applied to my bill (hahahahaaa).
We went to Blue Lagoon Island as our excursion and it was beautiful, however if you wanted to do any extras such as jump on the water trampolines, of course it costed extra. The lunch buffet was good. When we got back, we walked around Nassau to take a look around the shops and I will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. The locals swarm you like angry flesh eating wasps, trying to get you to buy the things that they are selling (which is the exact same thing that everyone else is selling). NOPE. I would rather not be heckled to death.
The water and scenery were beautiful, the lunch was good. There needs to be more drink stations. Don't rent the water tricycles unless you want an insane circuit training workout.
Water is available for free from the faucet in your room. If you want to drink a lot of sodas get the bottomless bubbles, it is an incredibly good deal.
