Elation was smaller than I expected and I was surprised by all of the waiting in line that we had to do. Overall the cruise experience was good and I'm glad we did it. I think Carnival is a good introduction to cruising and I expect we will go on another cruise in the future. Next time we will likley book on a larger newer ship with more amenities for a higher cost.
Embarkation

Fog delays led to them scrapping the boarding appointments and 2-3 hour waits to enter the terminal. They need a better system to deal with weather delays.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Drinks are expensive and once you have one you are inundated with waiters badgering you to have another. The bar wait staff was nice and personable but sometimes you just want to be left alone with your drink and enjoy the atmosphere. Food was okay from the buffets and excellent in the restaurants.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Mini golf was a joke when balls were actually available, kids enjoyed the pool and water slides. The adults only hot tub area was nice and relaxing but only after 9 PM.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Stage show singers were very talented. DJs did a good job with the pool area music.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Amazing professionalism considering the number of entitled customers they have to deal with. The staff was awesome but the associates working the "Customer Services "desk were cold and condescending.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Interior areas were nicely kept and had a modern flare. Outdoor areas are showing there age.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Comfortable bed would have been nice to have a chair felt and looked clean. Bathroom showing its age with rust and cracking around the fixtures.
Ship tip
Be prepared to wait in line for everything unless you go do things on off hours.
Utter chaos. Felt like this was the first time Carnival had ever disembarked a shipped. Forced everyone to group together on a few decks and then use elevators to go down to disembark. Literally thousands of people standing around waiting to exit the ship. Crazy!
Never apologize for weather delays. Considering the ship docked over 5 hours late and 2600+ guests had to Debark before Embarkation could begin = and the entire Embarkation process was under 4 hours for over 2800 guests so the ship could sail by 8pm = was pretty awesome in my book. Have to look at the BIG picture🛳🛳🛳🛳🛳🛳😱
