Half moon cay was the best part of the trip. What I was told about how wonderful a cruise was. I was disappointed.

Review summary

I wish I would of looked more into the ship and what it offered. I wish we would of chose a bigger ship that had more pools and outside entertainment. I felt I was always rushing in the evening. It also didn't help that the ship rocked the whole time. Some of my family went on a carnival cruise last year through a hurricane and said the ship they was on never rocked as much as ours did. Maybe if we chose a bigger ship we would of enjoyed the cruise. We still tried our best to make the most out of it and half moon cay was by far the best part of the trip. I do have to say the staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Embarkation

I was so excited to jump into the pool when we got on the ship at 10:30 am. It wasn't until the next day we was able to get into the pool then we was packed like sardines because it was the only pool on the ship. Kids didnt even hardly swim in it because it was so crowded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Buffet was a disappointment. Half the time drinks was empty and ice only worked for one. There was not enough drink stations. From others I heard how wonderful carnival buffet was from a trip they took last year. The ones I went on the cruise with was also disappointed by the small selection of juice and drinks available.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
What entertainment we went to was always good. Just disappointed it was more night time activity versus some day time. I heard so much about TV screens on deck so even if you didn't make it to a show you seen it on a tv screen by the pool and still felt apart of the shows.

Ship tip

Choose a different ship. If we ever choose to go on another cruise it will not be the elation.

I agree with the rocking. I felt it more on this ship than I have on others.

Been on 10 different ships and the Elation does rock the most, but definitely not enough to distract from my enjoyment. Been on her twice this year and wouldn't hesitate to sail her again.

Every cruise we been on I have felt a lot of motion and these include bigger ships.

Did you just get back? Hurricane Michael was a lot bigger and faster moving hurricane than any in recent years, perhaps that is why you had more motion in the ocean?
