Review summary

Definitely not what we expected and less after what we paid. I’ve been on 6 other cruises with Carnival and I have never experienced the stuff I did with this cruise. The attitude from the staff was horrible. We had the cheers package which already includes the tip, if we ordered a drink and didn’t give an additional tip we would get attitude or they just wouldn’t come back with our drink.

We ate in the Dining Room every night and every night the food they served was cold. On the first evening my son tried ordering from the menu and the waiter told him no that he could only order from the kids menu. This is NOT true! When I went to guest services they just laughed it off.

The majority of the activities they had we had to pay to do.

The evening shows were a bit too much for kids to be at. Shows were good but they were a bit too explicit. Not a family thing.

Every single time we went to guest services we received attitude. I was charged for a floatie in Half moon cay that I had to return because the air kept coming out and till this day carnival has not refunded me my money.

Don’t take children to the shows. Be prepared to deal with nasty people at guest services. Don’t even bother eating in the dining rooms.

Ive been on elation twice and had both excellent food and service, never had an issue. I’m going back in two months. It’s one of my favorite ships

We were on the Elation earlier this month. I didn’t experience what you did lizperez44 but the Elation is definitely my least favorite ship. We had a good time and the service overall was fine. Nothing stood out. Food wasn’t as good as on other Carnival ships. Tea Time was a huge disappointment. They didn’t serve as many pastries as Carnival normally does and what they did serve were meh. I don’t want to say I would never sail on the Elation again but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to.

All drinks; regardless of drink package or not, already have some gratuity added on. The absolute best way to get fantastic and fast service is to add an an extra buck. By afternoon of embarkation day...they know me by first name without seeing my card...know my drink of choice...and keep them coming. Well deserved & Completely worth an extra $1.00!
