Review summary

The ship was ok. The food was excellent. The entertainment was good. The cabin on the other hand was unbearably hot. We couldn’t rest well. It was so warm that I slept with a cold rag on my forehead and would wake up often!! The refrigerator never got our drinks cold. We were told it is not like our refrigerator at home when we complained. So, I assume a refrigerator is just a storage box for drinks. This was our second cruise. Our first with Carnival. We will not use Carnival again because we did not have this problem with the other cruise line.

A hint about getting mini frig to be cold ..if there's a door covering it prop it open with a wash cloth I read this elsewhere n tried it n it worked it was ice cold the whole trip.its cuz they box them in no air circulation so just prop it open.

Never had a hot room either, did you have maintenace work on it? We always bring a fan too. The fridge is encased in a box therefore the airflow needed to keep things cooler is blocked when closed, leave it open and you will find it cooler.

We were just on the Elation and loved it. Having said that, there are a lot of things that I could ignore during a cruise and still enjoy it, but a hot cabin is not one of them. Give up on Carnival if you wish but we’ve never had this issue with Carnival before (9, and all but one have been Fantasy Class ships). Good luck!

I agree with JayRCruiser. Try a newer larger ship. We were just on the Elation and it definitely is our least favorite. Too small and lacking a lot of the amenities that we are use to with Carnival. Our room and bathroom were way too small also.
