I didn’t know what to expect really as it was our first cruise. There were many things i loved and some that i didn’t live so much. But all together we had a wonderful vacation and i would choose carnival again, maybe just a bigger ship next time.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
I was very nervous with it being our first cruise. We are a family of five so i thought it would take a long time to go through the whole process but everything went so smoothly and quick!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Breakfast buffets were awesome!! I was very please the last 2 nights with the buffet for dinner but previous nights the food was not as good. The resturaunt for our captains dinner was an extremely long wait but the food and service was amazing! I was very disappointed in the guys burger place. You did not get to pick your specialty burger and if you asked they seemed annoyed by the request.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pool and hot tubs were so crowded that we never stepped foot in them. Only one of my three children got in the water at all. The kid area was ok but i expected more. My youngest son loved the golf. Shopping area was ok but wish there were more souvineer type things to buy. Really enjoyed the comedy shows and the rock show. My youngest did the build a bear which took almost 2 hours but in the end he was happy and that’s what mattered.
Entertainment

All of the shows were amazing!!
Children's Programs

Amazing shows and entertainment for the kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Waiters in the main resturaunt, room stewards, cruise director, and those that worked with the children’s clubs and events were all amazing! The food workers and bartenders were not so great!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Pool is much too small and crowded. I wish there was an adult only pool or at least more than one pool on the ship. Everything was clean and well maintained. I was just disappointed in the pool situation.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
I will definitely splurge on a suite or adjoining rooms next time. The cabin is so small and crowded. The bathroom especially is so tiny!
Ship tip
Pack light, go to all the shows you can, do the captains dinner, watch your bartenders make your drinks!
I am glad you enjoyed you vaction. With 5 people any stateroom will be tight! Some of the larger ship do have family size state rooms but it might be better to do adjoining rooms as you mentioned.
Wow!! Haven't heard a bad review on Guys!! Did you know there is a toppings bar where you can add or not put on what you like? A little more research into the ship itself would've helped with knowing the number of pools and so forth! Sorry you didn't enjoy the Elation as much! We are going on her for the 3nd time in Dec and absolutely can't wait😊
I have been on the bigger ships, Conquest, Magic , and the Breeze. Actually been on all three twice. Been on smaller, Elation, and Triumph! Bigger ships rule for sure! More space, you have more to do, we always get a balcony and we enjoy the room. In fact Carnival offers larger state rooms than other cruise lines.y next big ship is the Vista in November! Enjoy!
