Review summary

The ship was a nightmare many problems. I recommend picking another ship. The staff and cruise director was great but the ship has issues. Until the ship is fixed I don't recommend traveling on it.

The staff did a excellent job of keeping the ship clean.

The staff did an excellent job of keeping the ship clean, but there are a lot of improvements needed. The elevators that go to the grand deck only 1 of them worked and kids played on it all the time. I feel if your going to limit a floor with elevators, then the people that stay on that floor should be the only ones to use it.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin air conditioning system didn't work, the hot water wasn't very hot and the hair dryer that I never used was putting off a lot of heat.

Ship tip

Don't do it. The internet never worked, the elevators never worked and the only food worth eating was the Guys burgers. Save your money and go on another ship.

Beautiful but way to many rocks on the beach and in the water. I recommend wearing water shoes to protect your feet.

I agree Shaundalynn. I typically ignore the “this ship sucks” and “don’t ever sail this ship”reviews, without any justification to the comments. This poster gave examples of what they did and didn’t like, but still it was from his/her perspective (“food just nasty”). We will be returning to the Elation in April 2018, and I am absolutely confident that we will have a great time and continue to enjoy the ship.

Reading reviews will throw you off sometimes. Some folks are just to bourgeois. That's why you have to read plenty to see and then try for yourself.

So I just read a review on this site, posted just now, by people who were on the very same cruise as you. They said it was the best cruise they’ve ever had. Loved it. Had they taken a recommendation to chose a different ship, they would have missed it... We really enjoyed the Elation last year, before the dry dock upgrades. Different people look for different things...

So when you got the daily list of activities for teens it was just blank? I remember one of my teens saying there was nothing going on and didn't want to go but when we insisted she go a couple times at least, she enjoyed it and wouldn't miss it after that.

Is this review on Elation? Me and my 2 16year olds will be on in June......I've never been on this ship but also never not liked a carnival cruise. What did they have for the teens? They didn't have the teen club?
