Review summary

Our favorite part of the cruse was our excursion in Nassau. The ship was older but elegant. The staff was friendly and accomidating. However, they were overworked. We stopped going to the diningroom after the second night and a 2 hour wait to be seated.  We then waited another 30 minutes for our appetizers. Local people from our departure port were loud and disrespectful. Overall, the cruise was okay, the ship was okay, but leaving from Jacksonville was NOT okay. Don't do it. Just don't.

The ship is old but clean. Our cabin steward did a great job taking care of us. Make sure to bring your own soap and shampoo. The ones available in the shower are not adequate.

Ship tip

Embarking was a nighmare, but debarking was even worse. We were headed like cattle at 8:00 a.m. into various parts of the ship to await our call to disembark. We waited 2 hours. I have never had to be out of my cabin by 8:00 a.m. There are so many other ships to choose from...choose another.

We found Jacksonville to be a great port. Parking was great and we were onboard in less than a hr. You must have went to the dining room at the busiest time. We had anytime dining and no matter what time we ate were seated immediately.

We enjoyed the Jacksonville/St Augustine area and JAXPORT enough that we are doing the 8 day Elation cruise to Bermuda out of JAXPORT. We plan to spend 3 days in the area before we depart, and 2 after we return. So you would advise cruisers to not take that cruise because you didn't like the port city? Hmmm...2 hours to get seated? Seriously? As in, show up at 6:00 and not go into the dining room until 8:00? I take it that you had Anytime Dining and not an assigned seating time...

Our first cruise left out of Jackson and we loved it. Went a day early and ate at Clark's Fish Camp, which was FABULOUS! Walked around by Jacksonville Landing to wear off our HUGE dinner, music 🎶 was playing with a live band and children were playing in the splash fountain. Boarding the ship was a breeze due to upgrading from FTTF to a Suite.
