Review summary

Not a well-maintained ship. The deck where my cabin was smelled like feces. The restroom in my cabin smelled like urine the entire time. You could see the rust and wood on the frame of my bathroom cabin door. Vodka had something floating in it. Got the runaround from Guest Services. They were useless. The only positive was the Carnival Excursion in Nassau, it was amazing. The ship needs to be retired ASAP. I did call Carnival Corporate when I returned and they were amazing . They listened, apologized and try to compensate for my horrible experience. I appreciate Carnival’s Corporate office. I will sail with Carnival again but not this ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The drinks were okay minus the floating white stuff in my husband’s vodka; needless to say he did not drink it. The food was not that good, not even Guy’s Burger Joint.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not many onboard activities at all. Enjoyed the 2 shows and R+ comedy shows.

Horrible, hard bed, bathroom smelled of urine and showed lots of signs of rust and rotting wood in the restroom around the frame.

I have heard that it smelled of sewage. I have called and told them that and so far nothing they can do and i leave in 3 days. They say they haven't had any reports of this but I seeing so many posts about it.

Which floor was your cabin on?

Out of 5 ahips and 6 cruises we didnt care for the Ecstasy. The food wasnt great and overall just very underwhelming. If you live close to port try driving to Charleston the Sunshine is much better.

The older ships are usually used for shorter cruises from non-traditional ports - Jacksonville, Charleston, Mobile, etc. to extend the life of the ship for the cruise line. The newer ships will almost always give you a better experience, but you will probably pay more.
