I would not recommend Carnival. It had so much hidden cost that you found on board. It was every bit as expensive as the other cruises lines without the quality. I wish we had known this before having a mediocre honeymoon.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Terrible, the ship wasn't ready for guests until much later. Safety presentation interrupted getting settled in and the steward also interrupted this.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Poor quality food included. The buffet was poorly maintained and had limited options for for people with allergies. Found hair in my food that was not mine.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Pools were too packed. Not enough activites. Serenity pool was a joke.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Comedians were not great. Repeated entertainment. By day 3 we were bored and ready to fly home.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Most of the staff were indifferent unless they were selling you something extra.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The whole ship smelled musty and lower levels like sewage. It is noticeably one of if not the oldest ship carnival has.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
Beds were uncomfortable. Outlets didn't work properly. Our devices couldn't charge there, but did when we got home. It was uncomfortable.
Ship tip
Prepare to eat in the Windstar the whole time because most of the dining hall on Lido is poor quality.
We cruised the Ecstasy. We loved it. If your looking for a ship with 5000 fellow cruisers and carnival rides, don't go on an older, smaller ship. The Ecstasy is a classic.
You need to research before you book. The ecstasy is an older smaller ship. Also read reviews ive been on 5 ships and never had an issue until the ecstasy where i agree the food was not great and overall i thought it was underwhelming. Asking for advice before booking would have been beneficial. Yes there are extra costs for some things as there is on all cruiselines. Learn from this mistake and try again but if your standards are very high then be ready to pay lots more through another cruise line.
Seems like another of the fake review from a Carnival hater. If not, it must be a first time cruiser who had too high of expectations or didn’t want to spend money for anything.
