An underwhelming experience for the money made all the more un-enjoyable by the poor service and pricing strategy similar to a real carnival. Every staff member trying to get 50 more cents out of every guest!

Pools freezing, 2700 people and 800 chairs all saved from daylight to dark by one person and no staff trying to do anything to make lounge chairs more available. Finally got a chair the last evening after 2 hours of stalking the entire ship. Blue iguana bar was so slow and inattentive you needed order a bucket of beet just so you would'nt have to go back.

Ship tip

Don't buy the drink package or the unlimited pop/soda. You only get fountain drinks and if you order room service you pay for pop and the room service is a disappointment. If you get the alcohol package you only get ONE drink an hour and if you try to get one after 59 minutes, they will make you wait. Even though it takes 10 minutes for them to poor a beer. It is all designed to nickle and dime you as far as they can get you to go.

Leebo316 I 100% agree with you. My family and I have cruised on 6 different carnival ships and always had the time of our lives.....until we cruised carnival ecstasy. We just got back and I have never been more disappointed. There was so little to do that we were bored most of the time. The few shows that were scheduled were cancelled once we were seated in the theatre. No lounge chairs ever available at the pool. Very slow bar service. A stabilizer was broken so the ship rocked so bad everyone was sick, the ship was covered in vomit. They didn't do proper repairs until day 5 of our 7 day cruise. It was just a bad experience overall. We love cruising so we will continue to go but we are gonna give royal Caribbean a try. Hope your next cruise is better.

Sorry you had a bad experience. If you want warmer pool temperatures try cruising in a warmer month. I can't imagine not being able to find one seat though.

I wasn’t downplaying your opinion at all. I just thought the visual image of the comment above was funny. You’re entitled to your opinion just like everyone else is entitled to theirs. But you have to expect a reaction when your whole review is nothing but negative. There was not ONE positive thing on the whole cruise?

It's your opinion, but to be amazed is surprising. It's what this page is for. We gather insight, and provide insight for others new to the cruising world, ship, or destinations. No big deal, you gave your opinion, and we gave ours. It sucks you spent so much hard earned money, and didn't get a return on investment.

I am just amazed that random people care enough about my criticism of my cruise experience to come on the web and down play my opinion!? Kind of makes me think your not random customers. Either way, it was underwhelming. I have been on several cruises with 3 different companies and loved each one, until this one. I guess apparently it was my problem.

I was on the Ecstasy last year and my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. Not everyone takes cruises for the same reasons. Hopefully, if you choose to cruise again, you will have a better experience. I just did not see those same things when I went. Any money I spend was at my choosing with no pressure from anyone.
