Review summary

This was my husband's first cruise, but I this was my 6th cruise and I must say, it was a VERY GOOD one, though not the best. It was our anniversary, and we had champagne in our room when we arrived. The next day there were chocolate covered strawberries, which we enjoyed on our balcony. The ship is big, and we missed the ship tour. We had someone from guest services who said she'd take us around, but when we missed her call the following day, she said she didn't have any time to do it. It took a few days to get adjusted to the lay out of this massive ship. SPA We did a massage special for couples upon boarding the ship. The special was no special at all. We were told wrong information and wrong prices. It didn't seem like anyone in the spa knew the prices or exactly what the "special" was. Then, later on, they advertised lower prices for massages. My suggestion to you...WAIT and MAKE SURE you know EXACLTY what you're getting and what you're paying for. The manager ended up giving us the price that we thought it was for working it out the next day, but gave us a higher price than we were told for revisiting again. FOOD Overall, the food was okay, but some of the dishes were a little on the blander side than other cruises I've been on before. The lobster was a little over cooked and squishy. I had another and it was better. We went to the steakhouse and the food was VERY GOOD. However, I ordered an extra item...had to pay a llittle more for that. It was Chilean Seabass. I've had better. It wasn't flavorful...it was very "fishy:" I didn't eat much of it, complained about it mildly, however, they still charged me and didn't try to take care of the situation. When I was on the Carnival Inspiration, the Maitre De came over to all the tables to ask how everything was going and actually called the chef to our table when we made a minor complaint. The chef was SO nice. He has such a big job. Overall, our service at both the Dining room and the Steakhouse was just okay. I didn't think they made us feel extra special. The food at the brunches too, were very good. They do a comedy show at the brunches. Also...very nice! ROOMS The rooms are roomy and very nice. The person that was our steward did an EXELLENT job daily cleaning our room. His name was CARMELO. He knew our names for the first day and was almost always available. He was so friendly. He was the nicest person on the cruise. PHOTOS We took a lot of photos...they came out okay...a little on the dark side. However, we did the Dreams Studio photos. Our photographer was EXCELLENT! His name was Edwin Garcia. At first, I was wondered about the poses that he was putting us in, but we still had fun doing it. He kept assuring us that the photos were beautiful and he was right. They were absolutely BEAUTIFUL! He really captured the essense of our love for each other and the fun we had on the cruise. FUN SHIP It was really a FUN SHIP. There was SOOOO many activities and so many things to do. We really had a fun time. My husband even participated in a Fun Force breakdancing program. It was hilarious. Don't miss them. They are the best entertainers on the boat. The singers on the boat were strong too. The comedy shows...EXCELLENT!!! The music at the club was very good. We visited only visited once, but had some fun. OVERALL... I love carnival. They really go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. We had so much fun and will come back again and again. I think that about sums it up. Have fun on your cruise. I hope these comments were helpful. Sorry it was so long. Well....back to work (stop procrastinating)!
