A disappointing cruise

Sail Date: December 31, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

I sailed on the Dream in Dec 2009. It was a new ship at that time. With the exception of many many disruptive children, everything else was wonderful. This time, the choices of food in the dining room has gone way down hill. The entertainment is geared strictly toward the younger generation, the attitude of the some of the personnel onboard was negative. There was little to do during the day when in port for older folks. The staff in the casino were not personalable. I would not recommend this ship to anyone at this time. In two years it has gone way down hill. The furniture in the Encore lounge look and feel like they need replacing. Of couse this is because children walk on it and bounce.

Pros: Getting away from home

Cons: Food/entertainment

Recommends Carnival Dream? No.

Food and Dining
I am not difficult to please when it comes to food but this trip I ate from the left hand side of menu rather than the right. Therefore I had the same chicken and veg everynight. We asked if we could have shrimp cocktail everynight. Our head waiter Julio said just the first night. On the last night we overheard another table asking for shrimp cocktain and indicated that they had it every night...
Entertainment
Entertainment had to be canceled several nights. All entertainment geared toward the younger generation rather than h aving thiings that 6-75 would enjoy.
Ship Quality
Ship size ok. Furniture in common areas could be more comfortable and cleaner.
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
There were some that were extrmely unfriendly
