Review summary

Carnival sent numerous emails regarding the ALLOWANCE of or possession of any marijuana material, CBD OIL, and gummies. Prior report indicated the cruise line removed and barred a passenger for bringing CBD GUMMIES in her suitcase. We spent 2.5 hours on deck 10 prior to and leaving the Port of Miami and the ENTIRE time the smell of marijuana was surrounding us continually. I witnessed passengers on deck 10 smoking side passing joints between themselves daily throughout the entire cruise. I was accosted by one of these passengers who asked me if he was bothering me by smoking the joints. I ignored him for fear of causing him to physically harm me by responding to his questions. I had several contacts with security personnel regarding the marijuana smoking and they responded “we are doing the best we can to catch them”. One day they brought the dogs on deck 10 on the port side and I said go to the other side to catch these passengers.

Old style of getting on and having to provide documents. Very slow process. K-9 dogs were smelling all carry on luggage for marijuana, however, this process did not work because passengers DID bring marijuana on the ship and in the public view smoke their joints on deck 10 smoking side. Passengers must have put the marijuana in their underwear??!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Dining room food was not very good and lacked taste. First night food was served cold and also lacked taste. The prime rib served was ok but lacked real taste. The last night Cornish game was ok with somewhat of taste. Overall dining room food NEEDS help and even a new head chef who can make food taste better. Buffet is the usual crowded area and everyone trying to get their food. Again not very good choices and lacking taste. Pizza line always busy and long but a little better. Ice cream always a treat and busy. We did not go to any of the other paying extra restaurants. Overall all food areas NEEDED new style of preparat.

Lido Marketplace

Food trrrible and choices not good

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The main pool always crowded and very noisy especially around the 2 bars. Not able to get in pool because of the crowd. We did not participate in any other activities.

The Sky Pool

Crowed and near pool passengers smoking weed!

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Production shows ok but not really good. DJ’s in the main pool area played music for the majority of the passengers and not oriented to cruise music and the Carribean. Better music for cruises.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward did his job daily but ONLY comes in ONE time a day. He did a good job. Dining room service was good. Nightly “showtime” singing and dancing, not really needed in the dining room and slows the food service. All other staff were friendly and greeted us.

Ship Quality

This ship is over ten years old and the amount of rusting areas was very apparent and does not provide the atmosphere for a good appearance. Our balcony overlooked the ocean, but looking down the rust was visible. This ship BADLY NEEDS a renovation to remove all areas of rust and the cabins need to have UPDATED outlets for the current electronics. The men’s bathroom on level 3 has a rust stain in the sink and really looks terrible. Overall DRY DOCK badly NEEDED!!!!! Not sure even one star is applicable.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Overall cabin was good and plenty of clothes storage. Shower stall plastic is antiquated and out of date. Bathroom area also needs Drydock renovation and installation of modern electronic charge stations. Glassware in bathroom should be plastic ware to avoid breakage and injuries to your feet. Use of BAR SOAP is very outdated for the sink area. All other cruise lines provide liquid soaps, shampoos, and body wash. Conquest/Carnival is so CHEAP because they provided a PENCIL in the cabin to write any notes or requests. NEVER have I received or was provided a PENCIL since our cruises beginning in in 1985.

Ship tip

DO NOT GO ON THIS SHIP UNTILL DRYDOCK HAS BEEN COMPLETED!!!!!

Disembarkation

This was advertised as the new way to get off however we did not leave the ship until 10:45am. Our off site parking even called me to ask if I was off ship. Service desk could not provide me an explanation of this process because the on board HUB indicated the checking of luggage to disembark was closed out and said no FURTHER luggage could be put outside our cabin. This was a fiasco and needs to be reevaluated immediately. This was the worst debarkcation we have ever had since 1985! No star due!!
