Review summary

It was my worst cruise experience ever. My own fault. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. Carnival 3 day cruises out of Miami are party ships. All drinking and eating, very loud music everywhere. Guests on my deck were so inconsiderate. I didn’t get a good nights sleep the whole weekend. Definitely, not what this 79 year old was looking for.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Quite average food

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Everything was very loud. Strictly for a younger crowd. I am 79.

Entertainment

It was on too late.

Children's Programs

Don’t have any with me.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My dining room staff was excellent. Imade, Jhonatan, and Budi. My cabin staff was Dawn and he took very good care of me.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved my room and the ship was kept clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The best cabin I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I was surrounded my people who were incredibly noisy at all hours. Ruined my cruise.

Ship tip

Do not go on a 3 day cruise out of Miami unless you’re only interested in drinking and eating to excess. I never saw a woman my age on the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very efficient.

I agree 100% with lawnboy 1956. We started with Costa then went to Carnival and then Royal Caribbean and a few months ago we tried our first Holland America cruise. Holland is most definitely our favourite cruise line! All the little things that the other cruise lines are getting rid of Holland still does. And there’s food and customer service is top notch

Next time try a Holland America cruise you won’t be disappointed. The activities start earlier and finish earlier. It’s much quieter. It’s not a party boat. The food is really good and the entertainment is more for somebody your age I’m 67 and have tried all of the Major cruise lines starting years ago. We started on Carnival and worked our way through Norwegian Royal Caribbean, princess Celebrity, and now I found ourselves at Holland America.

Unfortunately a lot of cruisers leave their etiquette on the dock. 2017 I did our shortest cruise which was a five day. And we had a similar experience. Now we always try to do journey cruises it definitely solved the problem

Totally agree. One big party cruise, and people were very rude.

I did a 3 day on Carnival for the first time earlier to this year and once was enough. It's definitely a loud party sailing and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not for me either. I usually do 4 day sailings and find them much more quiet and laid back. It also helps to go on a Mon to Fri sailing rather than weekend.

Appreciate your detailed feedback feedback. It’s a lesson many of us have learned the hard way as well. Sorry you had to learn it. Longer cruises tend to be be better, depending on dates. Many of us “seasoned” cruisers are happy to answer any questions about future cruises you may have.
