Review summary

The final cruise of my multi-back (3). Had fun going with someone new to cruising but was often embarrassed by the overall behavior on the ship. Yelling and screaming in the hallways at all hours (if you want to call your very young kids those kinds of names please do it in private), smoking and shouting on balconies all the darn time and vaping in the lobby bar and at buffet. Who are you people? I spent a lot of time being appalled and moving to different areas. Three day cruises are over for me (have two more booked). Not sure if I just hit a bad patch of people needing to cut loose. Way to many stumbling drunks. I still had fun and tried hard to ignore most of the chaos. The only bee in my bonnet was watching people trying to remove gratuity from their bills especially the people who won over $1500 in the casino who thought it was a hoot to have it removed and then bragged about it at the lobby bar. Which of course sent others to the line to do the same. If this had been my first cruise I’m not sure I’d do it again. My friend did have a great time but was equally dismayed over some of the behavior.

Easy for me since I was back to back though it was slow, no fault of Carnival. It was disheartening to hear passengers already complaining as they were boarding and wanting guest services to compensate because they had to wait to board .

Same as prior cruise. Food was okay but often cold or room temp. Menu is getting a bit stale.

Onboard Activities

Pools were nice early morning. Activities during the day were fun when people weren’t yelling and screaming (it was a loud group this cruise). Skipped most everything else except art auction. It was fun and I did make a purchase but it was way too long.

Entertainment

Piano bar was fun as was comedy show. Didn’t attend shows in theater but did listen to the violins which is my favorite.

Service and Staff

My room steward was great. Super friendly. I had different dining servers every night even though I asked for the same people. I hated the standing in the doorway of the MDR to check in. Use the darn corridor and stop blocking the door and hall area!

Ship Quality

This group was messy. Cruise 1 of the back to back everything stayed tidy. Cruise 2 was more frat house looking every morning. Overall well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the balcony and room was nice. Just very noisy area and too much smoking on balcony.

Disembarkation

Slow but easy. Some misdirection in at check out in port but if you follow the signs you’re good.

@Shh813 I did and nothing was done. This is an ongoing issue and I’m starting to not book balconies because of it. And the vaping right in the lobby in front of everyone was over the top. Again, reported and nothing was done since this passenger was everywhere vaping. CCL needs to put more emphasis on the rules or shouldn’t have any.

We always assume a 3 day will be a party and try to avoid them. Mostly because of parents not controlling thier children. The drunkenness is occasionally fun for people watching. Glad you made theist of it.

Smoking is definitely NOT allowed on balconies. You should have reported them. We were on the Conquest in 2019 and loved it. Didn't have any of those problems.

AuntPinkie is was like night and day but I still had a good time. I kept my friend away from the craziness except the screaming in the hall. She ran out and was ready to confront them but took one look and thought better of it. We did have a good laugh over one passenger who was so intoxicated as she tried explaining to the room steward she needed more closet space and he needed to bring her more closets! The steward looked at us to try and control his laughter.

Yes Leog I am very aware of that and tip accordingly. The audacity of people having a great time on a cruise to have prepaid gratuities removed and brag about how they saved a ton of money is extremely rude.

It’s amazing how different each cruise was because of your fellow passengers. We found that also true on B2Bs we have done. Sorry you had a newbie during the most rambunctious. Glad you still managed to enjoy your cruise.

You are only annoyed by things you let annoy you. Cruise lines subsidies staff pay with the tips you are charged. The staff does not get more than their contracted amount. UNLESS you tip them cash directly. That what we do.
