Review summary

My teenage daughters really enjoyed this cruise. This was their first cruise. I booked it thinking it was a family cruise but I may be the only person who didn’t realize Carnival is known as a party cruise line. They end every announcement with “party on”. So with the band that played on the deck right below our cabin, we did not sleep well at night and woke early to announcements about the ports and daily activities. Guest services did try to help with this but there was nothing that could be done. Unfortunately this clouded everything for me on the boat. Those working onboard were very friendly and helpful. The food was okay. The movies in the evenings on the Lido deck were pretty cool. That was the only time the pools were empty enough for my daughters to swim. Overall, there were ups and downs but I won’t book another cruise with Carnival.

14 with carnival, and yet to get inconvenienced by any partying that I didn't choose to enjoy. Perhaps they should end every announcement with "take a nap".

Wow, never encountered any of this on 15 Carnival Cruises. We only cruise with Carnival. We have tried the other lines several times and did not like them

Just note that, regardless of the cruise line, the shorter cruises will always be more like party cruises. Five day is really in the middle - but I've definitely noticed a difference between them and 7-day cruises

Picking the right cabin is the secret to having a great time.

As far as the pools go, thats a major complaint on all cruiselines. There's never enough room at any of the pools. Especially on sea days. We always try to get back from a port early so we can have some time at the pool.

Did you book the cabin ? That's why you check the deck plan ? As for carnival being a party ship we're yet to see it just had our 22 cruise with carnival had a couple with RC and they were similar so I fail to see the " Party ship " If you want quite try celebrities cruising people where all in bed by 9 ... you need to do your research before you book and choose the cabin that you would like to stay in don't leave it to chance ...

Try Norwegian or Royal Caribbean. They are family oriented and less of a party hard atmosphere.

Need to do research on where the good rooms r so ur not below the mousey decks. Watch where the casino is also.
