Review summary

I was not impressed at all. This ship has a horrible muster station "safety briefing". Far more chaotic than other ships that I have been on. I am very unpleased that you have to go stand in line at the bar to get a soda or bottled water. If you want to get one for your lunch, your food is cold by the time you get back from waiting in line for your soda and if you get the soda first, it's watered down by the time you get your food. My friend and her husband were sitting by the pool and their daughter wanted to go get a coke. The bar was crowded and she ended up getting knocked down by someone that was drunk. My teenage son went to one of the bars to get a Barqs and had a grown woman hitting on him. The only reason I didn't go off is because I would have ended up probably on room arrest by security, because I don't play when it comes to my kids. It is unacceptable that any child or teen has to go to a bar to get a non-alcoholic beverage. It is actually unacceptable for them to not have another option for others as well. There are people who are recovery alcoholics and they shouldn't be subjected to going to a bar for a soda or water. There are also people who may not want to for religious or personal reasons. Other cruise lines have other options. I also paid for internet for 4 phones and did not have service hardly at all. I didn't have this problem on other ships. There were parts of the ship so hot that it was unbearable. Our room was hot as well. I however bought and packed a fan just in case and I am so glad I did. Our excursion to Atlantis was great, as it usually is when going there. I will not however, ever book an excursion with Chukka. They were very disorganized. We lost over 2 hours of our excursion time because of it. Carnival obviously doesn't back what they sell because numerous people complained and Carnival tried to lay the blame on the Vista being late to port and several other things they came up with. The Vista group didn't get their excursion cut short though, we did. The experience for me on the Conquest will make me think long and hard before sailing with Carnival again. I liked them up to this point.

I always leave extra for a tip when using bubbles.

Our excursion through Chukka was great and thry were really long lines to get food and it took me forever to get diet coke and they dont like waiting on folks with the package for sure.

If the bar tender knows you’re just getting a soda, especially if you have bottomless bubbles, they will skip over you because they’re isn’t a tip for that, so they skip over you in favor of someone that will make them money. Its unfortunate, but hats how they make their money.

Shh813 on some of the Carnival ships they do. However, on this ship I never saw anyine walking around taking drink orders.

Just to let who doesn't know what a review is for.....a review is a formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intention of instituting change if necessary. Just because you don't agree with my experience does not mean it is not valid. That's what a review is for.

Really bad review. Not good. I've been on many different cruiselines and they all get you soda if you're at the buffet or dinner in dining room, or just hanging by pool. Is this not true on Carnival?

JayRCruiser it is not consistent if I said I had different experiences on other ships. Also, I did not state any status level. But if you look at it that way a higher status level does do more for you on a cruise!

katiej512 its unacceptable for anyone that doesn't want to go to a bar to have to go. I sing and have been offered good money to sing and perform at the casinos where i live. I turn them down every time because I don't want to be in a bar or club scene. Thats my personal preference. I am not condemning anyone who likes it, I am just saying there are plenty of cruisers that do not and they should have other options. People in my party drank but did not like the the process of getting a soda either.

I'm pretty sure that getting soda or bottled water on CCL is consistent with most if not all of their ships, so if you liked CCL up to this point it shouldn't have been a surprise.

I agree on the soda issue as well. My kids also had problems getting soda at the bar. The bartenders would often overlook them standing in line for those that were ordering beer/drinks. My WiFi didn’t work either on this boat. I don’t think she’s a complainer but just offering her experience. Some of you are really quick to criticize someone who says their experience wasn’t 100% awesome.

I’ve been on the Conquest twice. I had a problem with the excursions as well. I completely agree with you on the soft drinks and water. They should definitely offer an alternative to a bar, especially for children. Also, this is a review for the ship. No need to attack her personally because she had issues. I am a platinum card holder with Carnival and have some problems on some of the ships i have been on. Take it easy.

If you booked your excursion through someone other than Carnival, such as Chukka, you cannot hold Carnival responsible. I believe that Carnival states that clearly that they are not responsible for non-Carnival related bookings of excursions.

I have never had or seen anyone else have that many problems getting a drink of any kind. What options do other ships have? If you thought it was unacceptable for your son to go to the bar for his soda, why didn’t you get it for him? Sorry the cruise did not live up to your expectations.
