Review summary

Fantastic vacation, truly relaxing. Our highlights were the nightly movies and shows. We enjoyed the gym and its amenities twice. We got unplugged and were able have quality family time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I liked how we were given a window time to board. We were able to eat lunch once on board, and have time to explore the ship before it left port. We were able to get a jump start to our vacation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
There certainly is no shortage of food and food choices. My kids liked the all you can eat 24/7 self serve ice cream stations. We liked all the different lunch choices. Blue Iguana was our favorite as well as the pizza. A sit down dinner every night was a treat for us and looked forward to it. We thought the menu was going to be the same, however it did change every night. We had a 6:00 dinner time which worked for us with the exception of one night, so we had the buffet instead.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The activities we did as well as enjoyed were the movies every evening, as well as the shows. We enjoyed the fitness center and spa, and since our room shower was small, we did enjoy our showers at the spa.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We only attended the evening shows in the theater, and enjoyed everyone. We looked forward to getting our Fun Times schedule every evening to see what the show was for the next day. Every performance was a quality show. I'm not sure where to put this in my review, but the reason I'm not giving a 5 star on this is because of the Sun Pool (adult and kid pool) area. We didn't spend much time there other than the movie at night because even during the morning and early afternoon, depending on the music, was a lot of bumping and grinding dancing, a lot of 20-30 yr. olds (and older), dancing, as my kids would say, rated "R", but with suits on. If that kind of dancing could be saved for the night dance parties that would be better.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Here is my favorite category to rate because here is where the vacation exceeded our expectations by a mile. Since this was our first cruise, we don't have another ship to compare to. We like the Conquest, however the service and staff on the Conquest made this vacation top notch. Every single crew and staff member were friendly, happy, helpful, and outstanding in service. I was carrying 4 cups of water to our lounge chair and was asked by staff if I needed help. Any empty cups or dishes left out, or trash, are picked up immediately. I need to point out our room steward Pande, who did a great job with our room, and knew us by name when walking through the hallways. Our table service, table #358, Charina, Suardika, and Wibiyantha (I hope I spelled them correctly) was great and made us feel special. We'd see Charina sometimes during the day on another deck and she'd great us and always remembered our names. Guest services was helpful when we needed anything. Thank you to all the staff for your exceptional service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean, constantly cleaning up as well as cleaning the railings and floors. Even the bathrooms had paper dispensers for the door handles.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
There were 4 of us in our room. My husband and our our 2 kids, age 15 and 13. I did expect the small size as I was informed when I booked it. I was surprised with all the closet space. Our kids slept on pull down twin size beds and we had a king. The room probably would have seemed larger with the pull down beds stored away. It was pretty tight, but did not spend anytime in our room other than sleeping and changing. If we had a larger room we may have spent some down time in it.

Ship tip

I would recommend a larger room if it meets your budget. And unplug.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Did not do an excursion, but easy access.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We did a Chukka tour, the Blue Hole, tubing and zip lining. So glad we did an excursion through Carnival for this port, and very happy with our excursion. The Blue Hole was my sons favorite.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
The getting off and back on the ship was a little but of a hassle as you have to wait in line to board a boat to get back on the ship, so the excursion time was shorter than I wanted, and was very hard to leave the island so early. Such a beautiful island. We did not do an excursion, but did a resort for the day at the Westin. The water is crystal clear and wish we had 2 days or at least more time.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We checked our bags for disembarkation, which made it easier to enjoy breakfast before being called off the ship. We were actually the last call but that really didn't matter to us.
