Review summary

The dining room food and service was fabulous.  There was a lot of entertainment going on, and the shows were all outstanding.  Where it falls apart is in the amenities..... what used to be provided to give you that pampered cruise feeling is now reduced or costly.  Day one we were given a choice, make up your room once, choose either turn down at night or make up in morning.   No chocolates on the pillow.  You want cappucino after dinner,  extra $$.  Bar service in the casino was beyond bad, half hour to find someone to take your order, then 45 minutes or more to get it.  Wet to pay restaurant one night, was not worth the extra paid, service and food was just as good as the dining room, in fact, service in the dining room was better.  Midnight buffet - gone.  Lots of activities, but watch out, some have charges or they are simply a blatant commercial for purchasing overpriced products they push. I enjoyed my cruise, but am disappointed in the reduction in the pampering I look forward to on a cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining room staff and food was excellent. Lido deck food was ok, but plain & boring, dry, and closed often. Coffee machines were broken, you had to search for working ones. Guy's burgers & fries were fantastic, and pizza was ok.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There was a lot to choose from, but so many were to push you purchase products.

These comments still surprise me. Why do persons go on the lowest priced, most accessible, cruiseline, and complain that they got rid of the things that most of the new customer base cares little for?

both of our cruises with carnival we have had both morning and evening service, with out having to ask or be asked.

Just for future reference, when your room steward asked if you want morning OR evening service, tell them you want both and you will get it with no problem.
