Review summary

Me, my husband, and 2 children (10 & 12) have cruised before and decided it would be nice to cruise on a different class of Carnival ship.  We did, however, miss the option to have an extended balcony cabin. This certainly was a bigger boat with more people than we've encountered in the past.   Not a bad thing though as we really didn't have to wait long to do anything on board.  We loved the flexibility of watching a family movie under the stars on the outside deck on the big screen.  The shows were good, but we have seen 3 of them already on other cruises in the past couple of years.  The destinations were all nice and we went on excursions on all of them.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved Ahmad, Daisy, Carlos and I Katut in the Dining room - we enjoyed the great service and conversation, and they really helped make a great vacation even better. Great to have Guy's Burgers & the option of the burrito place. We also love the omelet station!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Always something to do for sure

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Dancers/singers put on a good show. Kids enjoyed Family Game Night. Nice to have family movies on the main deck in the evening

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We loved Mike the cruise director - he's a great person, and he's very appreciated by guests and cruise members alike (many crew members commented on how much they also enjoy having him on the ship, which is quite the testiment to him as a person!). While the cabin steward was also nice, we didn't really connect with him like some of the other stewards on our past cruises. While he was a very busy person, he tended to forget things like our luggage tags which wound up leading to a lengthy disembarkation delay.

Ship tip

Make sure you grab one of the small deck plan brochures and carry it with you so you know where theaters, dining, shops, etc are.

I always carry a mini deck plan with me when on a cruise ship.  You never know when you may need it.
