Review summary

When I arrived on board I was not feeling well and needed to lay down, called room service to get some distilled water for my CPAP as I can not lay down without it.  I was told their system was not on line and they had no way of billing me so I would have to wait. This was after being on hold for 1/2 hour. They told me to call guest services, again after sitting on hold for another 1/2 hour they informed me rm services system was now on line and to call them back. Again I sat on hold well when all was said and done it took me 2 hours to get my distilled water.  They were more concerned about their $3.95 then they were about my health.  The very next day I again ordered room service and an hour and half later I called them and asked when my order would be delivered.  They said, " You placed an order" I told them yes an hour and half ago, they said oh " we will get your order ready and send it up " all of a sudden they had my order?  I told them forget it and went to bed.  My daughter ordered room service and half her order was missing although the receipt was correct. I went to guest services to complain and they had no interest in what I had to say.  I went to the internet cafe to just right a note to my husband, I was not on long at all and received a bill for $12.00.  Then we went to the photo shop and wanted to purchase one 8 X 12 picture and was informed it was $22.00. My daughter asked how much a smaller version of the piciure would be and was told an additional $10.00 over and above the $22.00. I was disgusted.  The quality of food aboard buffet, dining room and room service was not up to our expectations.  It seemed to be the same food everyday, very little variety.  The staff except for a few seemed like they did not want to be there.  This was the Carnival Conquest, by the time the cruise was over my family and I decided we are going to try Royal Carribean next time.  Upon speaking with other guest on board, they had the same complaints as we did.  From beginning to end I felt like it was all a big money grab and nothing else.  You will never see me on the Conquest again.

Try to stay informed before your next cruise.  Cruise line Websites are an excellent place to start.  A good travel agent can probably answer all your concerns but sometimes even they don;t stay up to date on changes.
