Review summary

We enjoyed the cruise. It was truly relaxing. We had great conversations with many whom we interacted with. We look forward to our next Carnival cruise.

Embarkation

No issues. Everyone gets bags sniffed/scanned by dogs. Sat in terminal until boarding group called.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the Anytime Dining. The Golden Jubilee drinks by Ralph were delicious 😋. Please do not miss out on the Afternoon Tea. It was one of the highlights of the dining options. Sea Day brunch is always a treasure!!! The frog legs appetizers and catfish entree did not disappoint! Oh, the duck was delicious, too!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The comedians were great! We had fun with Sci-fi trivia. We played in the casino for the first time. The $40 went fast! 😂 We weren't sure how the machine game was to be played, but it was nice to just try something different. We participated in Duck Hunting for the first time. We loved this activity! We also spent every morning in the Thermal Spa (and gym) before heading to breakfast. This is definitely an experience worth the money. The Serenity on deck 18 is a great napping 😴 spot 😀

Entertainment

5 out of 5
These talented performers are working triple time! They were swinging through the air like gymnasts, singing and dancing in English and Spanish depending on the show. The pianist and electric violin trio were fantastic! We truly enjoyed these great performers.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone knows the staff works really hard on cruise ships & this was no exception. Our room steward Jesse was great, and we really enjoyed seeing Ralph a bartender at the Golden Jubilee again. He's a great conversationalist.

Ship Quality

We were on Celebration for the first time in May 2023, and just coming back 6 months later, I was surprised to see so many areas with significant wear/tear and discoloration in the halls. Also, many times, the locks in many of the public restrooms were broken. One restroom, I could understand, but I went to several around the ship, and they had the same issue. Nothing major, but I just didn't think I would see so many things needing repair on such a new ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin is a Cloud 9 stateroom. It's a large balcony on the portside forward. The balcony is large length wise, and the glass goes all the way up. There are 2 full-size loungers and 2 regular chairs and a table. Since it is in forward, you will not see islands. It is quiet, and the only time we heard anything was early morning anchor dropping. We were up anyway, so it was no bother, but I did hear from others that they were startled out of their sleep by it. The room is very close to the elevator that will take you directly to the spa on deck 5.

Ship tip

Be open to exploring.

Ports of call

We were last here 10 years ago and was disappointed to see how much the beach access area has changed so much, and the vendors/locals are not around. There is a locally carved wooden box that we purchased for $35 in 2013. We thought we would be able to see a craftsman again, making and selling them still to purchase another for someone. Unfortunately, no locals were present, and we found the exact same box style in one of the stores for $400. It's basically another Cozumel.

Miami, Florida

Flew in the day before. No issues. If you are in the downtown area, check out Rinconcito Dadeland Miami. The Mofongo is out of this world 😋

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No issues with disembarkation. Lines for Passport went quickly. One person in our group was using birth certificate and we ended up waiting 30 minutes outside the terminal for them to come out before getting in our vehicle to the airport.
