Review summary

We really enjoyed all this ship had to offer. Horizon is still my favorite ship but we will be booking this ship again for sure because there’s just so much on it that you can’t do it all in one trip.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Loved all the new food and bar options on this ship. Street Eats and Shaq’s were great. Rudi’s is a nice addition. Prefer Jiji’s on Vista class ships instead of Chibang on XL class ships. Golden Jubilee and Latitudes were the all star bars on this ship. Red Frog Tiki bar was a nice addition and passable for mass produced tiki.

Chibang!

It was just okay. Not many options here.

Lots to do on this ship!

Serenity Adult-Only Retreat

Huge on this ship and it was always packed and very loud. There was nothing serene about it. Glad we had a Havana room because the Havana area was quiet and had plenty of seating.

BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster

Worth it to try once! Very cool.

A+ All-Star crew on this ship!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Overall liked a lot of things about this ship. But it’s a big negative that everything to do is on decks 6, 7, 8 OR decks 16, 17, 18. As someone who likes to walk a lot, that’s a lot of stairs between all the action. You can’t just go do one thing quick because it’s a hike.

Cabin / Stateroom

Havana Cabana was worth it! We originally had a Havana Interior but got a cheap upgrade to Cabana a week before we sailed! We loved the swing on our patio and the extra room in the cabin.

Ship tip

Look at the deck plans in advance and figure out where everything is. This ship is not laid out like the other ships.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

It’s fine. We’ve been here enough that it is almost like an extra sea day. We used the opportunity of everyone being off the ship to ride Bolt.

Disembarkation

Wife got stopped again disembarking because of identity theft issues. Miami staff was much nicer about it than Long Beach last time, however it is still a pain in the butt and apparently there is nothing we can do about it.
