Review summary

Its a very big ship, if you are not in the best of shape try to book a room in the middle or rear. Its a very long walk from the aft to get anywhere!! We got are 10,000 steps everyday of the cruise!!

Embarkation

Due to an emergency at sea a couple of days before our cruise, we had to check in 3 hours later than our scheduled time. Once at the port, we were escorted to the very end of the terminal and waited there for about an hour and a half before we got on the ship. I was not too fond of the extra long walk it took to get to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was okay. We tried the buffet for a few days for breakfast, and the food was decent. My wife had to wait a long time for her omelet, but she enjoyed it. I loved the food at Chi-bang; everything was seasoned well and very tasty. We are most of out meals at Shaq Big Chicken and the Java Blue cafe on deck 6. Hardly ever a line at the cafe, and the food is perfect. I don't know if most cruisers knew the food in the display cases was free. The line for pizza was ridiculous, and very unorganized, and the late-night buffet food options were poor. The chicken nuggets and the hot dog wrapped in the grilled ham and cheese bread were the best. Who serves hot bogs in cold buns? I found the perfect hack: get a grilled ham and cheese, remove the ham, and make the hot dog delicious. The late-night buffet served the same food every night.

Onboard Activities

Casino

We spent the majority of the cruise here winning and giving it right back to Carnival. I think we can expect a free balcony room offer in the mail.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There was always something to do, and usually at the same time. We missed most of the shows but enjoyed the ones we could catch. The male and female lead singers are excellent and have some of the best vocals I have heard on a cruise. Don't miss the big top performance show, I forget the correct name were they sang the songs form The Greatest Showman and Pippin it was phenomenal.

Service and Staff

I love the casino bar staff when you can find them! They always remember our names and favorite drinks. Jodi will take excellent care of you if you can find her.

Ship Quality

It was a big, Beautiful ship that we didn't fully get to explore.

Cabin / Stateroom

Love our balcony room, so much I forgot to take pictures of it. Love the shower door and it was plenty of room for the both of us. Be mindful the walls are thin and if it's very quiet you can hear everything going on next door!!!

Ship tip

Eat at the Jave Blue Cafe, people forget about this free option for breakfast and lunch. We came here everyday coming back from the ports. No line and the food is very good.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Caught a cheap tour right outside the terminal. Loved it a very beautiful place.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We hung out at the free pool and enjoyed ourselves. It was hard to get the bartender to wait for you. We waited for about 15 minutes, and we were never given the time of day. So they lost our business.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We came here first due to the hurricane. We wanted to see the plane land close to the beach, but it was sweltering that day, and we just took the water taxi to the beach.

Disembarkation

Disembarkment was very easy I suggest you get a passport it's much faster. It does take a long time to get out of the terminal
