Review summary

Leaving the terminal, the journey walking to Celebration and the journey from ship back to the terminal, could have been better organized. The escalator was not working and it felt like we were being herded on and off to use the elevator. There was no organization and people were tripping over each other. It was a fire hazard in that hallway, was disorganized.

Embarkation

Poor due to weather and staff

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Horizon and Mardi Gras much better

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Unable to enjoy anything on ship; bartender staff were horrible. Racism at an all high. I booked on Havana floor. The Havana lounge was constantly booked with private parties. Passengers that were not booked on Havana floor were not deterred from the Havana private lounge. Customer Service told us we were lying when reported.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were beautiful.

Children's Programs

With exception; Carnival rule with children under 18 were roaming in masses after hours without an adult.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our head of housekeeping was Agus. He and his team were amazing. I have no complaints. Waiters and waitresses in dining rooms were horrible. Syrup spilled on family member and waiter did not acknowledge or apologize. Had to call over another server for a wet towel (Main Dining). On another evening, my family and another family were given same table seating at Main Dining. Host staff were not in communication. We stepped aside to allow the other family to have the table as they had a member in a wheelchair. Host staff ended up sending both families to a smaller Main Dining room. When we arrived the main Hostess was not prepared.

Ship tip

Keep your luggage with you. We encountered a few families that had horrible luggage experiences and the Customer Service towards these families were horrible. Carnival crew members should keep their issues with race separate. Guests should not have to watch and wait while blatantly being ignored. Two female bartenders near Cucina blatantly ignored persons of color. It was so apparent, guests not of color commented as well.

No complaints with ship organization, as this was handled well and with care. However, once off ship and back in terminal, it was a unorganized.

Not sure what racism has to do with anything. I've been on 5 cruises and have never seen that!

Where exactly does the racism come in? Give me a break!

Appreciate your details. It’s so frustrating when “private parties” usurp public places. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to find out ahead of time if a large group is on going to be on board. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.

Embarkation and debarkation are always the most chaotic times. Thank you for sharing your cruising experience.
