Review summary

The ship, being new, had some gliches to correct. We came to the conclusion that we prefer the smaller ships with less passengers.

Embarkation

A little delayed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
All the food was delicious but Thanksgiving Dinner in the main dining room was disappointing. We had a pressed turkey roll stuffed with spinach and roasted turkey was served on the buffet. I was disappointed the lobster was not a choice by itself for purchase. You could get surf and turf. We loved Emeril's Bistro.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved the infinity pool area at Summer Landing. Having a pool in the Serenity Area was great. Also, the large spa tubs were very nice.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The musicians and performers were awesome. The stage shows and songs were new with mostly new songs. Being Baby Boomers, we missed some of the older songs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As usual, superb.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
All beautifully new and sparkling clean. The design is BIG! The Center Stage is a gorgeous area but did not have enough seating area for the circus show.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was GREAT to have a cabin that was cool...actually, could have it a cold temperature! Very comfortable and clean. The new shower design is wonderful.

Ship tip

It's BIG with a LOT of people!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Very busy port. No excursion.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Always a fun day at Margaritaville.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
The large pool area is fun. I liked getting WiFi at the coffee shop.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Because we chose to get off early it was busy and a little chaotic with a lot of people getting luggage and waiting in the maze of lines. It did keep moving though.

Thanks for your review. My husband and I look forward to going on this cruise for my 60th birthday next year.

We are not sure if we will like the larger ships either. I wanted to book one just to try it. We love the Dream class ships. We have two more of those scheduled over the next two years. I sure hope Carnival does not abandon that style of ship. Royal Caribbean seems to be driven to make them bigger and bigger. Some people don't like those ships. If that's all they continue to build then we will all be out of luck.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience on the Celebration. I truly appreciate the smaller ships, but my husband wants to go on a newer, larger ship, so we're booked for our 1 year wedding anniversary next May. Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks for the review, i have a feeling that I might stay with older ship too especially with the Horizon, I can’t wait to sail the Celebration though.
